Got to handle the R1 when I was shopping for my first 1911 but held out until I could get a Ruger. Glad I waited, love my SR1911.
In my experience the Springfield Milspec is the best bang for your buck. I have all 3 of them Ruger, R1 and the Parkerized Springer is tighter, best shooter,
and has that original 1911 WW 1 feel. But what do I know, I only have 6 1911s,hehehehehe
Thanks LuckyDerby. Now to begin the search for a good quality mainspring housing, after which, begins the search for a Ruger 1911!Yes. These are standard 1911s. All 1911 parts fit in all 1911s. Some require fitting, but all work.
While I've heard this, and generally agree, I've not needed Remington to fix things on my R1Don't forget Ruger has great customer service
