Which one speaks to you?

While pump action would be my first choice in shotguns, I never really had an interest in pump action rifles. I do like 22 rimfire rifles and octagon barrels, so #1 would be one of my top choices. I really like shooting 22s, and it's not all that expensive. My second choice would be the 6.5 Swedish Mauser. there used to be a lot of those around, but I don't see them anymore.

The mag tube on the 14s and 141s has a curly Q spiral for a reason. You can load spitzer pointed ammo in it without fear of a chain fire. John Pederson was a pretty smart guy.

I had a 760. In 35 Rem. For my neck of the woods it isn’t a hunter and the action wasn’t the best. Gone.

At one time I really wanted the CG, but not for me.

That .22 has my name written all over it. If I were local you’d have one less gun on your list above.

Pumps are fun... I like them, and prefer pump shotguns, too.

You got THAT right!!! There are still people out there that think Browning created the Hi-Power when in fact he had almost nothing to do with it. You FAL fans can thank Saive for that one as well. And Pederson? He was Remington's designer for decades and developed a score of guns for them. He was respected and admired by both Browning himself and Julian Hatcher.

Well, I probably paid too much, but I ended up with the 760 in .300 Savage as that one spoke to me. The 2x7 glass is decent, and right in the wheelhouse for what I will be using this rifle for with a heavy German style reticle. I plan to refinish or possibly replace the butt stock with one with more figure if I can find that. Even if accuracy is mediocre, it will be a good woods rifle, and will fill a hole in my life. I probably missed out not going after #2. It went for less than I thought it would. IMHO #1 and 5 went for far too much, and #4 was probably the best deal all around, but I didn't "need" another Mauser sporter, even though I love that caliber also. No remorse yet, I pick up my rifle Thursday, can shoot in my back yard and I have 2 different loads to try, so we'll see. So long as it doesn't throw keyholes, it will suffice for it's intended use.
