Which optics can be forward-mounted?

Other than an intermediate eye relief conventional scope (like the Leupold M8), which of the modern optics (Aimpoint, EOTech, etc) can be mounted in front of the receiver on a rifle without compromising usability?

Any of the reflex or red dot optics.

Then there are the long eye relief scopes, but these are mostly low to medium power scopes for handgun shooting. Be sure to check the eye relief specifications on each individual scope to make sure it fits your application.

Pistol scopes...esp. ones made for big-bore revolvers and "hand-rifles"....
