    See poll.

You more of a "few nice expensive guns" or "many less expensive guns" kind of guy or gal?

You need to compute an AVERAGE value of all of your guns to answer the question. When computing value, please *do* add the value of the scope & accessories to the gun.

I'm needing to, planning to, and will be, changing more and more toward fewer, more expensive guns than the present state of affairs.

I don't really fall into any of the categories per say. My general goal was to get an example or two of every action type I wanted along with a .22 version of such.

Outside of that it is whatever has struck my fancy and might be an inexpensive Ruger GP100 or my HKP7M8 and M13.

I run the gammut from inexpensive to uber expensive but I own nothing cheap. Everything is quality.

I think the results might be a bit skewered because of people like myself who have several very inexpensive Mil-surp's that drive the avg value down on the high end stuff. Not that a single mil-surp that I own could be considered a "cheap" weapon, but when you start adding in several $60 Mosin's and $50 SMLE's and $90 Mausers, the avg drops fast. Are they any less useful or quality than a $1300 AR? Not to me :)

cslinger, the only way you couldn't fall into one of those categories is if you don't own any guns at all.

I clicked an honest answer to help you figure how folks on this board are set up. But I'm not going to post which one I clicked. That's a bit much info to just throw out there.

    Oh.

I didn't even think about machine guns. One of those will throw your average gun value WAY off.

And even harder to tell when you don't even know how many guns you have that have never been shot! Not me, of course, but a friend of mine I've been trying to get to visit here.

Too many choices that don't fit. Why would you ask about raw number of guns and their value? Would you include the value of accessories like spare mags, optics, etc.? Too many variables and the two data elements are so unrelated to each other as to make little or no sense.

Actually, that's an impossibility since all possible combinations are accounted for. But thanks for voting & posting everyone - yes a machine gun or two would definitely throw off your average

Since the majority of the weapons I own are 'hand me downs' from family it's impossible to put a price on them.

Grandfather's 39 Marlin may only bring a couple hundred on the market. But what is the value of the memory of the quality time I spent with Dad teaching me the basics of marksgirlship and safe firearms handling.
