Which pistol/rifle combo would you carry into war?

Urban/close range
I'd probably have to choose a Krinkov 74' (Light and low recoil),
and either a Tokarev or a Five-seven. Thats supposing ammo and magazines are not an issue...

For Jungle/medium range
I'd go for An Rpd... i cant imagine the mighty 7.62x54 would have a problem with mere mortal foliage!!!

HK MP7 ... and more ammo THAN YOU :)

no handgun ...there will be many battlefield pickups.

My Combo.

Rifle - Needs to be dead on reliable, fire a easily available service cartridge, semi automatic, hi-cap, and be accurate enough for battle range applications.

Pistol - Same as above.

Here's the rifle;

And the pistol ( Top left corner );

I'm happy with my choices, both have been 100% since round #1, both fire a large caliber cartridge, both hold a lot of rounds, and both are much more accurate than they need to be, more accurate than I am.

Marlin 1894 & S&W 629 - .44mag
or
Marlin 1894c & S&W 686+ - .357 mag
or
M1A Loaded & Glock 19 - .308 & 9mm
or
M1A Loaded & Kimber 1911 - .308 & .45ACP

Choices for Sidearm and Rifle.

My Rifle would be a: Colt M4 Commando 30 Rounds 5.56mm [.223 REM]

My Side Arm would be a: Springfeild XD-M .45 Acp 13rd Mag Total Capacity 14rds.

The Best to All!

Rifle: AK47

Pistol: AK Draco pistol:evil:

I would choose that combo since mags, ammo, and parts would be interchangeable.

From what I own I'd take my Saiga AK and Glock 26 with me.

No pics of the Glock at the moment but you all know what it looks like anyway.:D

Since taking this picture I've bought a Russian military issue sling. The rifle looks and feels far more complete with it on.

It's got the factory forearm, K-Var stock, Surefire mags, Tapco FCP and pistol grip (soon to be replaced with a Hogue AK grip).

Glad to see several others with the armalite ar10 so they can have my mags when i eat it or i can have theirs, or we can share and nobody eats it but dem 400 yards away

Lone wolf warfare?

Ammo availability?

Organized squad or long range patrol LERP?

Company or battalion warfare with support?

Air cover?

If you think about a various scenario the weapon of choice might change.

Just a thought; for to me it would honestly make a difference.

For a rifle, I'd probably take an M14 because I had a great time with them at the Designated Marksman course this year. I'd most likely modernize it though with the EBR type stock.

For a pistol, it depends on whether I'm allowed to use hollow-point ammunition or not. If not, then either a Glock 21SF or an HK45. If hollow-points are a go, then either a Glock 19 Gen4, or an HK P30.

Add a 12" DD Lite FF rail with Magpul XD covers and a Fenix tk30 light to that Colt 6920. I haven't yet made it around to replacing the obsolete m4 grips and front sight base yet.

Glock 23 with Warren Sevigney Comp sight and thin .110 Dawson FO front sight.

Or maybe replace the Glock with this:
( but add a Melonite finish and Warren Sevigney/ Dawson .090 sight combo)

Since it could be "any" war, for the rifle either an M4 or an AR10 since they're both NATO rounds, probably the M4 since the ammo is lighter and I can carry more.

The pistol is a little tougher as I like the ballistics of the FN57 and can carry a lot of ammo, but ultimately if I had to forage for ammo I might be better off with a 9mm of some sort. If the ammo is going to magically appear, then the FN57.

If I had to make a decision today ... my POF P415 chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO and my SIG P220 Combat in .45 ACP. Both are very reliable, both are accurate, and I shoot well with both.

AR-15 carbine w/ 3-12x42 Nikon scope (short sniper you could say). 1911 for the side arm. I'd take the AR because it's light and manuverable but can still reach out and touch someone. The 1911 for pure stopping power at close range.
