Which Glock would YOU choose?

I actually love the G19/23/32 compacts. They're the epitomy (imo) of what a compact pistol should be. The finger grooves fit my hand well, and better than the fullsize guns. But of the 3, I'd probably go for the G19.

Yes I like Glocks too

G43 or G53

If limited to publicly advertised models I would go with the G23. Perfect size and decent caliber. However, if I could choose any Glock then I would want the G43 which is the full auto version of the G23 including the 100-round box magazine and 40mm grenade launcher. Or even better would be the G53 with the 6-barrel battery driven gatling gun configuration with belt feed (from your cargo pockets of course!).

If it is truely "any" model I would get the chief to buy me a Glock 18.

My second choice though, would definitely be a Glock 20 10mm. It has both great power and magazine capacity. In fact, my daily concealed carry weapon is usually my Glock 29 subcompact 10mm.

G23, as the compact frame fits my hand the best and .40 gives IMHO the best balance between capacity and stopping power. I have a G27, but in your hypothetical situation, concealment is not a concern.

First Choice (G18 Full Size, Full Auto 9mm)
Second Choice G22 (Full Size .40 S&W)
Third Choice G21 (Full Size .45 Auto)

If your hands are big enough, G21. If your wallet is big enough, G20 :D . If you like what both of these shoot, but want it smaller: G30 or G29 respectively. If you like 9mm a lot, G19. If you are in love with .40, G23. If neither is small enough: G26 or G27 respectively. If you like new but already somewhat obscure cartridges with no very obvious advantage or use (gonna get flamed for this one): G37, G38, G39. If you like .40 but also want a laser beam chambered in 9mm: G31, 32, or 33 with a .40 S&W barrel to swap out.

Disclaimer: I'm kinda kidding about the GAP round, if you like it then enjoy. I really don't ever see myself getting one and figure it won't do much the others won't do. But then again, people said that about every other round we have available too, huh? Consider me yet another dummy who refuses to get sucked into this one, I guess:rolleyes:

10 years in uniform with a 21 on my hip. Now I am issued a 19, but if I was a uniformed officer, a 20 or 21 would be my only considerations.

so does anyone have any info on this g43 and g53? im interested. i would not want them as a duty weapon however. they sound great for tactical situations and i would feel more need for one as part of a special response team or something.

that said after reading the opinions i think the glock 31 appeals to me the most. glock 35 would be my second choice.

I have a 22 and love it and i also have a 19 love it more. Soon i will have the 21 and the 26 and that will complete my collection. Out of all that there is i would choose the 18 full auto with 30 round mag's.

I would try to find an old 1st-Gen G17 for a reasonable price and ship it back to the factory for a free full-tilt overhaul and a new box. That way you dodge the funky grip surfaces and/or finger grooves if you don't dig them. Add a Hogue or a chunk of bicycle innertube if the pebble surface isn't grippy enough for ya.

Of course, I just got done doing this myself, sans extra grip items, so I might be a bit prejudiced... ;)

Glock 32C with a New York 1 trigger

If I was right handed(and I am not, :D ) and wanted to buy/use any Glock model for duty use(LE/armed security/EP/etc) I would go with the Glock model 32C in .357SIG. Many LE agencies issue the Glock 32 .357SIG and it's proven itself well, ;) .

The .357SIG feeds great, has excellent ballistics and is in use by many LEOs/PDs.

I'd get the Glock 32C to reduce recoil but the standard 32 would be a smart choice too.

I would also have a Glock trained gunsmith put in a NY-1 trigger(based on the New York State Police/Glock trigger system) and some high quality night sights.

Other add-ons/custom work may be useful too but for a Glock pistol, I'd pick the 32C in .357SIG.

As a LEO I have the G22. The reasons for this are....
15 round capacity. 1 in the gun, 2 on the belt and a round in the pipe, 46 ready to go (hopefully that will get me to my AR if need be).

smaller frame than the .45, fits my hand better.

ballistics are between a 9mm and a .45.

Use the same mags for my G27.

Mags hold more than the .45, however, less than 9mm.

Personally, I would rather have a Kimber .45 (dept. won't allow) with high caps like ParaOrdnance.

JR

I got rid of my night sights for heine sights. Scores went up and don't have that !&*# glow at night.
