Which Glock would YOU choose?

Glock 20...

Hey Chief, would you mind if i get an aftermarket barrel with this?
Oh, and its not a big deal if i send it to a custom shop to get the grip modified to feel more like a 1911, is it?

(Why DON'T they make a 1911 style aftermarket frame???)

Hmm...I guess a G21 since that is the one I bought. My hands are plenty big enough, and if I can't do it in 13 shots, then I wasn't meant to make it.

The 26 or 17. The finger grooves are not aborted as they are on the 19.

And the Glock is best served in its original caliber, 9mm.

I'd have to say the G20 for a duty gun. I think the 10mm and 45 ACP are about on par for terminal performance and the 10mm has the edge in barrier penetration and round count. I can shoot the big Glocks just fine so I'll take more ammo and consistant deep penetration from the 20. Oh, and give me Heinie Slant-8 night sights, a Streamlight TLR-2, about a dozen magazines, and all the 200 gr XTP Double-Tap ammo I can fit in my trunk if I'm not paying. ;)

My choices would be in this order:
1) Glock 20
2) Glock 20
3) Glock 20
4) Glock 20
5) Glock 20:D

Open carry so size is not an issue, they are paying for the ammo, gotta go with the baddest gun they make, besides the G-18.

Which Glock would you prefer...

Looks like I'm a year or two late. Anyway, I would choose the G20 full-size 10mm on the hip. 10mm because penetration is my priority (expansion is merely a bonus for me). Add to that a G29 as a backup in the pants pocket. All with full-power carry loads, of course. The only reason why I presently carry a G21 and G30 is because the 10mm Glocks are not available where I'm from.

Yes, I carry a G30 in the pants pocket. It goes in a modified Uncle Mike's Sidekick Inside-Pants (size 15 shortened to accomodate the shorter piece, and with the belt clip removed). The G30 and G29 are not pocket guns. But it works for me. Since I couldn't get a Glock 10mm, I use Corbon and Magtech +P 230 grain JHP (937 and 1007 fps respectively) as my carry loads in my .45 Glocks. The Magtechs are about 1/3 the price of Corbons.

This is going out of topic a bit. But for those who want even more, I think the heaviest .45 Super far surpasses the standard 10mm loads in penetration. Therefore, I am considering a full-size 1911 Hi-Cap from Armscor. Good value for money based on my own experience with it in IPSC. They also come with bull barrels. All chambers are fully-supported. Google the words "Armscor" and "Medallion".

I'd say if you want an ideal mixture of compact size, carry-ability, not too fat, comfort in the hand, high capacity, good potency, reliability, accuracy, yada, yada... it's just got to be the G19, errr, G23, I mean 19, well, or G23.... yeah... it's like that: either the 19 or the 23 is THE SWEETEST spot in the Glock line up. I've got a 19, 23, 29, and 30 and I just can't decide which I prefer, the 19 or the 23!

I would go with the one model Glock that has repeatedly proven it's reliability as compared to all the other Glocks.

The Glock 17. All the truly high count Glocks are 17's.

Every other model Glock has or has had issues.

Go figure.

Fred

ALL guns models require a compromise of one or more primary qualities. And every gun model you can name has "had issues" of some kind.

No doubt the Glock 17 is a superb (and reliable) gun... but other models in the Glock line are equally qualified for "superbness" and reliability, given different requirements.

Consider that not everyone wants a gun the size of a Glock 17. That's where the 19, especially, comes into play as a superb balance of size, weight, capacity, reliability, accuracy, concealability, and potency. The 17 is a great choice, but for those interested in something more concealable, somewhat more compact, I think the 19 is the purrfect choice! ;-)~

There's an article in one Glock Annual about the Glock 19 being the "perfect gun" (by Gila Hayes if memory serves). I think that's not too far from the truth for most people - male, female, large and small. I have fired the Glock 19 and enjoyed it - good capacity to size ratio, forgiving, pleasant to operate, problem-free. At that time I was considering something more concealable and ended up buying a G26. If you like the G19, carry the G26 in an ankle (or pocket) holster also! These are excellent pieces. I just wish they'd do something about the chamber support on the bigger Glocks (.40/.45) without compromising feeding reliability!

IF Glock were to offer a Practical/Tactical in 10mm that would be it.

Failing that, the Glock 34 would be in my holster.

G19. I don't know about you, but the compact models fit me the best, so the G19 is it.

I think I would get the G34, because Im very accurate with that gun, and because you just cant go wrong with 19+1 rounds of good 9mm ammo without a reload.

Or I would jump to the other end of the scale and choose a G19. It is a handy weapon, and even with 'only' 15+1 rounds of good high quality JHP 9mm ammo you´ll certainly pack a punch.

Whatever you choose, dont forget a side order of G26 though.

Better Than 9200-Rounds On MY G21...

...The last 1000 + of which were 10 mm (through a KKM Conversion Barrel).

Equipped with Meprolight sights, LaserMax, and SureFire X200, this gun would do me fine. ;)
