Your choices run all over. If you are looking for a single stack 9MM, go for the S&W 3913, or the Walther PPS.

Both are great guns.

hello all,i am a new member so just learning how to find my way around this site,i am looking to buy a ccw for myself,actueally dont want an auto,i was always tought to believe that revolvers are the best,no jamming and not any real moving parts to get cought on anything,was thinking about a .357,but from reading these threads i would consider an auto,like the orignal post here price is an issue,would like to spend under 500,any ideas?thanks for the help

I happen to like Glocks, because they are really simple and have good reliability. Also, they are common law enforcement issue, indicating high reliability.

Sure they are ugly, but that does not detract from the glock pistols ability to go 'bang' every time the trigger is pulled.

Update

I went to the gun show today and found a Sig P6 for around $300. I went to the range immediately afterwards, and realized Sig deserves every bit of praise they've ever gotten. That pistol was a complete joy to shoot. Its smooth, accurate, comfortable, and for a P6, has a beautiful finish. The DA trigger is about a million pounds, but the SA pull is perfect. I shot about 200 rounds this after noon. Thanks for everyone's advice.
