I don't hunt. I'd only have it for protection.

if your in the woods with a revoler on your hip, your hunting... thats atleast the way the Warden is going to see it.

I didn't even realize they made a 10mm revolver. I assume it uses moonclips? If so, why couldn't you load it with .40SW?

ETA: OH WOW! It's a new product and it will shoot .40SW! I've been WAITING for something like this! :)

Thanks for the input guys. I'm both pleased and kind of surprised by all the GP100 love. I loved mine when I owned one, but I figured up against these other two it would get a run for it's money. Showed me.

It's still tough as the 610 would allow me to shoot .40 S&W which I have many rounds of, but I have to agree, the GP100 is an outstanding weapon.

I went 629

It can do everything the other two can and then some. Either Smith will likely have better triggers and sights out of the box than the Ruger, but I would prefer the .357 to the 10mm in a wheelgun. The .357 is by far the least expensive to purchase and feed. Pick your poison

610

I've got a 610 and a 629. 10mm is cheaper than 44special or 44magnum. You don't get much cheaper than .40. They are known to be very accurate and even full power 10mm is mellow in that N frame. The 610 actually weighs more than a 629 in the same barrel length due to bore of barrel and cylinders. You won't shoot it loose. My 6.5" full lug unfluted model is a tank.
