Looking for a scope for a Savage 270 that I recently purchased as a package deal with a Simmon 3-9x32 mounted. I use this for deer hunting in NC and my budget is under $300. Here is what I am considering but I am a rookie with rifles so your input is welcome here. Nikon 3-9x40 Team Primos, Nikon 3-9x40 Omega Muzzleloader or any other scope that is recommended. Also seems like swfa.com has the best deals....any other sites have good pricing? Thanks ahead of time.

Get the Nikon Buckmaster 3x9 40mm with NikoPlex reticle. It is an amazing scope. I have four. They compare favorably to the VXII and VXIII Leupold scopes. You can get them for under $200 including shipping on Ebay. You can also buy them for $209.99 at Cabela's every day. They have a lifetime warranty.

However, DO NOT waste your time with the BDC reticle. It is a generic BDC reticle that will do you no good unless you spend the time and much ammo shooting groups at each 100 yard increment to record the drop. When you change grains, you have to go through the whole process again.

Bushnell Elite 3200 is a great scope for the money. My only gripe is the amount of vertical adjustment. The glass clear and bright and it is tough. I have buckmasters 4.5x14x40mm with mil dot reticule on my SPS tactical in .308 and I love it too. I don't think you can go wrong with either scope.
