Which Sig P226 9mm for field/combat use???

I like my stainless 226. It weighs 41.2 oz. with the empty mag. My 1911 weighs 40.2 with an empty mag and it isn't too heavy. I have an inate and perhaps irrational distrust of aluminum frames.

Easy answer, the standard P226. Great outdoors gun. The alloy frames hold up just fine.

Got to agree with PO2HAMMER. The standard p-226 is a great all-arounder. It's a little large for some hands, but if it fits yours, you can't go wrong.

the regular 226 is the all-arounder. the extra recoil dampening of the stainless frame doesn't outweigh the extra weight when carried all day
