I am trying to decide between an STI Trojan 5.0, Ranger II, or Kimber Pro Carry II, or Kimber Tactical Pro II. They would all be in 9mm format.

Here is my criteria:

1. Reliability
2. Less Recoil the better
3. Size

Anyone actually own or shot these that can help? I did a forum search and exhausted my reading but thought someone might offer some additional insight.

Get a Ranger II in 9mm, replace the grips with something a little grippier and replace the MSH with one from Ed Brown that matches the STIppling on the front strap and you're gtg. That's the route I've decided to go on, anyway.

The Kimbers are ok but the STI will have less recoil and is, IMO, a better gun. The Trojan in 9mm would be fine but the little bit of velocity difference shouldn't matter overly much.

STI or Wilson Combat

I have a Springfield Armory 1911 9mm which would be close to the Kimber. It has had "issues" from day one. I have sent it to Wilson Combat to be made over. I thought about the STI but decided to go cheap on this gun. Bad idea. Now I wish I had gotten the STI, or the Wilson Combat KZ in 9mm. You only have to buy quality once.
