Seeing as how this is the 100th anniversary of the Model of 1911, it is only fitting that every American should own one. I'm currently without a 1911 of my own (wife has HERS), so I am contemplating rectifying the situation. I have located (2) candidates for possible purchase. Both 1911s are USED.
The first is a Series 80 Colt Government Model in stainless steel. It is an earlier stainless gun with plain black sights and stainless steel trigger. I'd rate it as 90-95% overall. Price is $799, but is negotiable.
The 2nd 1911 is a very lightly used Remington R1. The gun looks absolutely NEW. Price is $599, and like the Colt, is negotiable.
I want a 1911 for CCW and general field use. My 'heart' says 'Colt'.
