Some guys and myself recently partnered up and bought one of the top producing trophy whitetail ranches in the state.

I've been poking around out there a lot lately...bucks are really starting to shed and my boy loves to hunt for horns.

The genetics on this place are amazing....

A blurry pic...but look how far past his ears this sucker is!

Can you see the one in the brush on the far right?

A group of young bucks, lots of potential there.

I've seen a couple of 180 class bucks in here...another of the guys said he thinks there are at least 5 that will do 180 or better. And there are somewhere around 200 bucks total on this place.

Come on deer season....

Nice looking place. Where abouts is it?

Thanks, Bosque County, Texas. It's just 5 miles from my house.

You inviting the Monahans crowd out?

Ummm....no....I don't think so......Tom can come if he promises to behave.....the rest of those folks are nuts. Might not be a deer left when they leave.

:D :uhoh: :D

Does the first poster get a free hunt???
Free? No. ...how about a discount?

Genetics, or care in maintaining the numbers within the carrying capacity?
A little bit of both, as I understand. Place was highfenced in 1982. 3 quality bucks were brought in from south Tx to give the native deer a boost. Careful managment ever since.

Shooting a fair number of does, I hope?
Will be this year. The place is definitely stocked heavy. They've been running it more like a feedlot. Lot's of does need to come off as none were taken last year.

Let me know if you decide to offer some cheap doe hunts...
Will do.

+another 1

I would so love to help you with the doe thinning. Just let me know when and if at all possible, I will be there. I'll even bring more than my share of beer (for after the guns are put away of course).

whats a decent size buck there weight? them are some lean trim looking deer with nice racks. :)

+1 here, too. I've been doe hunting (non-natives, mostly) here in NoTX and would be more than pleased to have another option.
