broke student starting law school in the fall

I am trying to save some money for new guns and ammo/range time in between contemplating the massive amount of money I will have to borrow for law school.
I am glad to have found this site, so that I can get advice on how to best spend my (limited) funds.

I'm 66, married with two grown sons. Am a retired Chemical Engineer after working in the sales/consulting field for 38 years. Enjoy collecting and shooting OM Ruger SA's and Ruger #1's. Have been collecting(accumulating?) guns since I bought my first pistol in the army. Also love also to reload and load for over 20 calibers plus 12 ga shotshells. Last gun I purchased was a Ruger #1 in 204 Ruger with a Weaver scope.

I only have a "few" guns. I only started shooting less than a year ago. I shoot target and skeet at my own "range".

My two favorites are my Norinco 1911 and the simple, effective and cheap Mossberg Maverick 88.

A few things have changed since I posted 2-3 years ago:

I was a counseling grad student and substitute teacher who was sick of working with kids and looking to return to the business world.

I got very sick of the business world very fast. I am now a "mental health worker" at a local psychiatric hospital and I LOVE working in the human services field. I am looking for a better human services job (I want more sane hours and need more money) and I am looking to get back to grad school- first an MA in counseling (maybe school counseling) and then hopefully a doctorate in counseling psychology or clinical psychology.

I am living with my parents and still picking up as many guns as I can since I will probably have to lower my rate of spending on such luxury purchases later on.

I am still single but considering getting engaged. We've discussed it and I'm quite sure when I'm ready to pop the question the answer will be 'yes'.

The car I hoped to get more time out of (for financial reasons) died and I now have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata that I bought new 2 years ago later this week and I have put over 48K miles on it.

I'll be 36 in about a month and I'm still an Orthodox Jew.

My outside hobbies haven't really changed:
-pipe smoking (I blend my own tobacco and I have an impressive collection of pipes, some very cool)
-fishing (don't do nearly enough of it)
-camping (don't do nearly enough of it)
-reading (the one hobby that rivals guns for cost- I buy several books every month

Wow! 28 pages to this post. May as well add mine!

25, male. I work for a small construction company. We do residential remodeling, and new construction.

I have lived for two years w/ a friend whom I have known for many years. He is also my co-worker! So rent is cheap and we car pool. (saves a lot of money that way)

My dad and I are close and we share shooting and reloading etc. as a hobbie. We usually find a gun we are both interested in and then split the cost. Works well since our interests are very similar.

Goal was to read every post in this thread. Quit on page 2

32, physical therapist, married, 2 yr old daughter, one (TBA) in the oven, car payment, house payment, student loan payments, currently no gun $$$$ . Can see light at the end of the tunnel though. Like others on here, got most of my guns when still single or as hand-me-downs. Can buy more, but would have to sell ones I have to get them & don't have many guns left (22 in all) that I'm willing to part with.

Just turned 32. I'm a union electrician (Local 35). No wife or kids but one very understading girlfriend. I choose to drive an older car so I can afford my hobbies. Photography can be more expensive than shooting!

Farmed, cowboy'd & raced car's most of the time. Now I work in the trucking industry wreck repair. Been doin'g that for about 20 year's. Last kid graduated from High School in May. Have a wonderful girlfriend that I'll keep forever. Between us there are 9 grandchildern & two more on the way! I like bass fishing, handgun's & shotguns. Enjoy yard & garden work. Leave it to a girl on here to try to find out more about who you people are besides just a screen name.
Lol. I think these kinds of threads are fun. It's nice to get to know the people on the board.

I am 22 years old, studying Engineering. If all goes according to plan, I'll graduate in December and get married in January (don't worry, she's a shooter). I don't have an extensive collection, but I'd say it's versatile. Basically, after buying several various firearms, I made a list of firearms I really wanted and narrowed it down to a short-list of 4. These 4 are the ones I wanted to buy before getting married and having all kinds of bills. So far I have the first three on the list and am waiting on finding a Savage 11F in .308 at a good price (donations accepted :D ).

21 w/ GF (she’s a fence sitter but I’m converting her slowly). College student, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Minor, 1 year left, First "real" job (internship for the summer) hoping to get an AR this summer and maby a shotgun, and maby a handgun or two, and maby a nice rifle, but I'm gona have to see what I can throw together.
Small collection (5 or so) highlights are the glock 17, mossy 500 and this http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=206678.

My parents were Jehovah Witness missionaries to Burma where they were killed by anti Jehovah Witness terrorists. (It's a world-wide scourge) I was temporarily raised by wolves until found and adopted by Tibetan monks. Once it was determined that I was not the next Dahli Lama, (Close, but I failed the aptitude test) I left to seek my fortune. I found myself in in the Kalahari Desert where, after watching beetles become trapped in amber, I had an idea which lead to a remarkable invention which is used worldwide to this day. Due to confidentiality agreements, I cannot tell what it is, but I can say that Bill Gates has been a pretty good employee!
Since then, I've established permanent residency in Lower Slobovia, but my wife and 14 children travel extensively pursuing our hobby of finding all of the kinds of security cameras that there are in this wide wonderful world!
Now, you know all about me.

I am a 20 year old education major at Auburn Univesity. I am curently single with a part-time job. Most of my money goes to my hobbies: hunting, fishing, and collecting. Father is a LEO and avid hunter, so I have always had access to some fun toys. I have had several shotguns and rifles, but my father and I have started collecting mil-surp, mainly U.S., two years ago.
