what better first post?

I'm 21, married, a homeowner, USMC reservist (infantry), Iraq Veteran, and I hope to buy my first personal firearm in about a week or so (I'm looking at the Springfield Armory XD-9 Service). My name's Jake by the way :p Oh and BTW, I live in Milwaukee, WI one of like 4 freakin' states not YET allowing CCW. I know that it is coming up again soon, but so as not to hi-jack the thread, if anyone has any good ideas on how to support getting this bill passed e-mail me at: [email protected] Thanx!

I'm 23, work in a factory for 36k a year, and I'm single.

However, I still live at home since Mom is a ????up and cant afford for me to move out, so in a matter of speaking I still have a family of seven (myself, three siblings, Mom, a cat and a dog) to support.

My life sucks.
UPDATE: (I thought I updated it already?)

I'm now 24.

My life still sucks. Every time I get close to escaping, something keeps me from doing so.

48, professional, decent job, no wife, no kids = guns, cars, kayaks.

21, student at a technical college - transfering to NCSU as soon as it makes sense to. Been with a wonderful woman for the last 2.5 years and counting and looking forward to life long relationship with her. I don't have unlimited $$ to go out and buy what I want, but I trade up and it helps to have a father who is a gun fanatic. Love shooting, the lady is a better shot. I drive a 1983 mercedes turbodiesel and carry a Glock19.

21 years old
Girldfriend for about 4 years
bought my first handgun at christmas, then two more since then
In between jobs, waiting for spring and landscaping to start again (I run a crew)
Oh, and i have three pet turtles....not sure why.

Definatly dont have unlimited money for guns ( just ask my GF she will tell you) but its something I enjoy and like some said earlier is cheaper than bass fishing ( I can atest to that also).

Pretty cool topic BTW.

Aged 52 - Former Army Officer (Signal Corps) married to the same woman for 30 years. 2 boys both grown and out of the house. Kaliforniastan resident for 18 years where I started my own software consulting business after getting out of the military.

After selling the business in 1992 I moved back to the midwest and took a few years off (it's not all it's cracked up to be). I eventually got bored and decided to go back to work.

Currently working as a Database Marketing Analyst, although I'm seriously thinking about starting up a business again.

Gun wise, yeah I have a few.

Hmmm - dunno why I'm doing this, but here goes...

41 year-old Brit, recently married a US lady and currently going through the immigration-hoops. Spent 3/4 of my life in Africa and have a background of military, close protection and computer support / IT security. Spent a year in Iraq doing small-convoy protection for contractors, mainly EOD-personnel blowing up Saddam's munitions. Had a number of bunfights with the local yokels - we lost 2 guys.

Been shooting since I was 6, handloading since 10 and competing in handgun since 14. First legal handgun at 16 (CZ75), followed by more of the same until my first 1911a1 - stuck with that model ever since, although I'm not a fanboy (I'm even Glock-friendly). No current firearms but there will be at the end of next month when I can prove 90 days' TX residency along with my SSN and drivers' license.

Recently got my work-permit and there might be an antivirus company in my professional future - we'll see.

P.S. I'm moving to Arizona VERY soon. I visited a couple weeks back to check out a house I bought and got a chance to shoot an M60 machinegun as well as a Thompson sub-machinegun..... Most fun I've had in all my life. Being a gun-loving-californian, this was a chance of a lifetime. I've got a job waiting for me at Scottsdale Gun Club should I choose to take it up. :D

single, never married, 38 , contractor, electronics tech, make about 20 per hr plus or minus, sales, rentals, leads, etc. have three cars to take care of and insure, that is a load. Had many girlfriends, last one very serious about, but after we broke up, i noticed the strangest thing, i suddenly had money and time to myself. Girls, you must admit, are high maintenance.
one more thing, if you like guns but dont have a lot of money get as many 22 's as you can , they are the most varied the most interesting, the most unusual, usually some of the most beautiful designs, allways cheaper, and 1.00 per box of ammo just cant be beat.

...and have WAY too many firearms!
But wait...

Is such a thing possible?

Think of your nearest government.

They have many firearms, yet few (except pro testors) claim they have 'too many firearms'.

I've only got 4, but if another human comes through 'that' door,
they will feel the sting.

Too many?

Naw.

Enough.

I am 21, I live with my parents, and I buy a new pistol or rifle every payday, which is every 2 weeks for me. As for the working thing, I'm a Distribution Generalist for PCF Corp.
