I like the sig Its a quality fire arm,But If I carry a 380 and I rarely do its
in a smaller package in my pocket, and you can have 9's in the same size/ weight price range.

I used to carry my P232SL. In fact, it was my very first carry gun. I got it from my father who gave it to me as a gift for getting my carry permit. It was one heck of a nice 21st birthday present.

It was replaced a while ago, though once I realized just how many guns are the same size and offer more power, less recoil, etc...
When you look at a P232 and something like a Kahr K40 side by side, it becomes difficult to justify the P232. Especially when an LCP fits so nicely in a pocket.
besides, the straight blowback action just doesn't do it for me. Too much kick, compared to the recoil operation.
The more powerful Kahr K9 is much softer shooting to me.

My P230s DA triggers were both very nice, and some of the nicest DA triggers on guns of that type Ive owned. Both were very smooth, and I didnt find them heavy at all. Perhaps them made changes in the later P232's in this respect?

Perhaps. My P232 trigger pull measured around 11lbs and a few ounces. I cant call that light.

That sounds about right. I think most of my other SIG's were around 12 pounds in DA. I shoot a lot of DA, DAO type guns, so Im used to that type trigger and really dont notice, or consider things being heavy, until you get something like some of the European military guns that need two fingers to pull the DA trigger. My CZ70 is a brute!

I always thought SIG's in general have very nice DA triggers, and the SA triggers arent bad either.

Hammer wobble, yea, side to side, a little.
Great carry gun, IWB holster. Carried this gun every day for 5 1/2 yrs, and really like (feel safe) with it. Fits my hand, shoots well and is reliable. I got to try a lot of the newer sub compacts and still like this one best.:)

My Dept. used P230/P232's for our back-up/plainclothes pistol for many years. We never had any problems with them. They are very accurate. I bought a P232 blued for its light weight. Mine has never jammed. I've never seen on jam on the range.

I have a 232SL and....

........still carry it frequently. IWB or OWB. I've even done pocket carry. It's more pocketable than some think. Though one day I am going to search for an alloy frame one day. I have a Smith Airweight for that department now so there's no hurry.

For the size of the gun you can get more power for the money. As others have said, it is too big for its caliber now. But that's fine by me because I like a bigger, metal gun. Especially since mine is stainless. Even with hot loaded 100 grainers, the recoil is nothing to me. Very accurate. Excellent pointability. The only smaller gun that I had and liked was a NAA .22 mag revolver. With the full sized holster grip. Planning on picking up a brace of the Black Widows for the wife and myself here in a month or so. Actually, side by side, the Sig isn't even that much smaller than my FEG Hi Power clone. Shorter in the barrel by about an inch and a half but the rest of the dimensions aren't too much smaller. Even the grip thickness is negligible, only about 3/8ths of an inch. Only slightly taller in heighth with flush MecGars.

Don't like the heel grip but have grown accustomed to it. I don't plan on a reload anyway. No, I'm not that cock-sure of myself. Just not prone to being in wildly crime ridden areas. Don't even carry an extra reload most times.

Price? Way too much for a brand new one. Depending on shape, I'd shoot for around $325 for a plain jane to $450 for the high end SL with night sights and Nills or a Crimson Trace.

Overall, nice looking and accurate, well built handguns that belong to another age. But for some of us, still perfect!:)
