I have tried about every type of folding knife made as an edc I just keep coming back to a swiss army knife. I carried a tinker for many years along with what ever other knife I was carrying (I always have 2 knives)my tinker was showing use so It was replaced an Adventurer and I now carry a Bantam as a second knife.
Who else packs a sak and which one is your flavor:)

Swedish SAK

I carry an EKA Executive Major.

Mine, but the color's messed up.

It's made by Wenger (Switzerland), with bubinga wood handles added by EKA (Eskilstuna, Sweden) and sold/warrantied by EKA under the "Executive Major" name.

It looks a lot like the Wenger Traveler, but with wooden handles.

Interestingly, it doesn't seem to be in their current product list, but can be found in the PDF catalog.

Very handy. I use the scissors as much as anything else.

Not mine, but the color is right in this one.

I usually EDC either a Vic Spartan or Wenger Standard Issue. In the woods, a Vic Camper. Oh, and, I keep an alox classic sd on my keychain. Sometimes, I carry a Swisstool Spirit (not really an SAK, but...)

Victorinox

Great knives, I have a "Centurion" for camping (belt sheath), "Recruit" for everyday, and a "Classic" for when I am dressed up (Sunday).

Every day I carry a Vic SpartanLite or an aluminum scaled Farmer, depending on whether I foresee the need for a corkscrew.

They're also the loaners for sheeple instead of my full size EDC.

I used to carry the corkscrew one but now carry the model with the Phillips screwdriver in place of the corkscrew. Don't know what model it is but it's always on me!

I travel a lot on business. I hate it because I'm away from my sharp pointy things but I do what I gotta do.

When traveling I use a Wenger SI. Easily replaced if ever the Baggage Gnomes decide to abscond with it while my bags are being kicked/dragged/thrown/lost between check-in, the plane, and the "Abandon hope all ye who enter here" baggage claim.

Still hard to beat a SAK for the money.

Chris

I carry a recruit everwhere I go, still as sharp as the day I got it and that was atleast 8 months ago, been in my pocket everyday.
Irwin.

Got my first sak in 1968, and have been hooked ever since. Mt first sak was a huntsman, and I carried it for about 10 years. Then I went for a tinker, and that went for several years. A Wenger SI has been around as an edc till about a year ago, when I discovered the bantam. I have come to love the minimalist bantam. Slim single layer, a blade to cut with, and a combo tool that really does replace two tools in one blow. I just may try the alox bantam.

Also as a second knife, I've had a classic on my keyring for about 10 years. I used to disdain the little classic, but my better half showed me the light. It all started when her company bought a bunch of them to put thier logo on and of course she put one on her keychain.

Over the course of the next year, I watched in horror as she put that knife to tasks that I would have hesitated to use my tinker for, and it survived. Then I did an experiment, I put one on my keyring, and when a pocket knife chore came up, I made myself reach first for the classic to see if I could get it done with the little thing. For 99% of what I needed a pocket knife for, the classic did just fine. Only short commings were with food stuff and the blade being just too small, and whittling or woodcrafts around camp, it was just too small a grip to cut through wood. So now I've come from a tinker or Wenger SI with my classic on keyring as a team, to a bantam and classic teamed up.

I love sak's, and they just make sense. The tools really work, and I've fixed things ranging from a ceiling fan in the bathroom to a '66 BMW R60's ignition plate with a sak.

Whatever other knife I will be carrying for the heck of it, there will ALWAYS be a sak on me someplace. Like the credit card, I just don't leave home without it!

Thats my story, and I'm stickin to it!:)

those bantams are addictive:)I've had mine for a little over a month and all ready have an extra one in my desk draw as a back up
I hear a lot of people say they use the scissors all the time I have a leatherman micra that I never use and have had saks with them.I haven't found anything that the scissors will do that a knife blade won't do just as good or better

i always have at minimum my wenger standard issue (same as the V soldier) ive carried one in that form since boyscouts first was one my grandfather gave me (wish i never lost it) since then the wenger has taken its place only because the v model doesnt have a keychain loop

Victorinox Officer's Model edc. Also have a Rucksack that I sometimes carry on weekends.

Count me in. Vic Hiker or Vic Fieldmaster.

Ive stopped carrying my other edc blades -- my spyderco endura 4 and native I. Occasionally I'll carry the TDI. For the most part, however, I slip a SAK in my pocket along with a light, lighter, my wallet and keys.

I started out carrying a Tinker years ago. It has been replaced several times. I carry the Adventurer now. I have a number of different SAK models, but prefer the Adventurer most of all for EDC.

Of the heavy thick ones, I like the Locksmith. It does not get carried much since it is too heavy and thck for pocket carry. It would be a useful survival knife.

Love them!

Always have a Classic on my keyring and regularly carry a Vic Soldier. Huntsman and Climber also get some pocket time. Even got my wife carrying a Classic now. :D

always with me unless I'm flying commercial. . . .

during which time I feel completely naked. My favorite is the Super Tinker or the Climber but I also carry the Farmer or the Electrician just about as often.
