I'm going to blindfold myself, stick my fingers in my ears, and run around in a circle loudly yelling "la la la la la la la la la la", until the election is over.
I see no one on the radar I'm really interested in. Most scare me to death.
I would like to vote for Ron Paul. Since it's unlikely he will get the nomination I'll have to wait and see.
I will not vote for Guliani, Romney or McCain under any circumstances!
Since this is likely to be my last chance to vote in a national election, I also will not vote for the lesser of the two evils. I'd rather not vote at all than waste my franchise on a lesser POS.
I want to listen to all of them some more, find out exactly where they stand on ALL issues, then vote for the best nominee in my party. That nominee may not be the final candidate, but I'm not going to whine about it. I will definitely vote, for the elections have been WAY too close in recent years! No more "chad", no more "dangling participles", no more "dimples"....and, hopefully, no more attempts at invalidating the absentee ballots of our military personnel!
Im new to this political stuff and plan on voting for the first time in 08.
Ive been listening to alot of talk radio on sirius.
could some one post what each of those listed in the poll whether their rep or dem. Maybe even some of their pros and cons.
ACK I clicked on the Hillary Button on accident!!!! I think I just infected my computer! Plz strike that one off and Ima run virus scan software@! Haha.
But on the bright side looking over the list I dont really think it matters..... Why can't we get a real representative that is indicative of the people :banghead: All I see are "anti-gun legilators/bleeding heart program liberals" on the left and "lets keep pumping billion$ of US tax dollars into the Iraqi Ministry of Defense" on the right.
So.... which is the lesser of the 2 evils? I would have to say 100% Republican but really which one of the Rep. candidates holds the values of the Republican party??? Yeah ...
"You can trust me with your 2nd Amendment Rights.....Honest!"
On NPR I listened to Hillary credit the Assault Weapon Ban 94
with reducing the crime rate. Helped decide who NOT to vote for.
I tune to NPR for Blues on Monday, the BB King kinda blues,
not depression.
Ron Paul through the primaries, unless Thompson needs the support to beat Romney or the like. Not a big fan of RP's persona with that goofy smile and harping on the same "I never supported the war" yadayadayada. Whatever, his policies and positions get my support despite himself.
I'm afraid a pres Thompson would disappoint. Wish that wasn't the case, as he's easily the second best we've got and much more likeable than RP. He is more electable than RP, though that says nothing about his quality as a candidate. Still a viable alternative to a Dem.
If neither of them make it to the ticket it'd be tempting to write in Alan Keyes or vote Lib, though I hate for my vote to essentially be wasted.
Fred Thompson has my vote, I sincerely hope he gets in the race, as I expect he will. I'm glad to see that vast majority of folks here would go with Thompson. Compared to the rest of the GOP field, he's the obvious choice.
Wow, Clinton (3) and Obama (2) are ahead of Rudy McRomney (2)?
I guess the person who stabs you from the front is preferable to the person who stabs you from behind.
I picked Fred Thompson but he will need to run for president first.
Who the hell voted for Hillary? I can't believe she's over 0.0%, unless we have some pranksters. I have some core beliefs my candidate must be held to but also understand practicalities. I'll gladly pull the lever for Fred Thompson. But no way I could for Giuliani, McCain, or Romney despite how bad Hillary and Obama would be.
mm, I'm not buying it. After the VT shooting, Thompson wrote an op-ed supporting the need to arm teachers and allow concealed carry. He pointed out all of the anti-gun initiatives as being the problem, not the solution. I'll try and find the link and post it when I do.
Paul's stance on the 2nd ammendment has never waivered. Many so called "main stream" republicans have capitualted from time to time.
Its not suprising to me given their statist solutions towards foreign policy, corporatism, the war on drugs, social conservatism, and other encroachments upon freedom.
For me the libertarian or libertarian like candiates like Paul offer the only true path to restoring our republic as the founders had intended it to be.
Looks like the republicans should run a straight Fred Thompson/Ron Paul ticket. I would vote for that more times than a dead person votes for Richard Daley.
And Fred Thompson is NOT a gun grabber. He is a close second behind Ron Paul in regards to his RKBA views. He has repeatedly and firmly said that the right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental individual right. Almost no one else has done that. He said this after VT and he has said it again repeatedly since then. He was one of the few people calling for CCW on campus. We need someone like him in the white house.
