There is a third possibility and one that I think is most likely true.

All the RP supporters are really HRC/Osama supporters trying to persuade Republican voters into backing someone who cannot win in the general election.

They publicly support RP but when they go into the voting booth, they pull the straight Democrat lever.

Think harder.

I'm not ignorant of the political process or politics in general, I'm well versed and up to speed.:neener: I've watched all of the GOP debates and Dem debates, as well as watching fox news on a daily basis to keep abreast of what is going on. I take offense to calling me ignorant.:fire: I do believe that voting for Ron Paul in the primaries in pointless, he has ZERO chance of winning. Thompson gets my vote in the primaries.

I don't particularly care what you guys think of my voting choice, I will be voting for Fred Thompson, assuming he enters the race. According to the latest polls, if Fred Thompson gets in the race, he'll be running neck and neck with Guliani, and he hasn't even spent a dime yet on campaigning.

Obama vs Thompson, or Hillary vs Thompson, the choice is obvious. The worst thing we gun owners can do is sit out the '08 election because there is no perfect candidate. This will GIVE the white house to Obama or Hillary, in my view.

Thompson gets my vote in the primaries.
The same guy that voted for the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill?

The same guy who thinks that we were right to invade Iraq?

The same guy who wants to legislate what you do in the bedroom?

The same guy that voted to continue affirmative action?

The same guy, who according to Gun Owner's of America, voted fourteen times for anti-gun legislation?

The same guy that in 1997 voted to grant amnesty to one million illegal aliens from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Haiti?

You might want to rethink your support for Fred Thompson.

Yep! The very same guy.

I believe the website that was posted concerning all of Thompson's supposed anti-gun votes, has the credibility of dog crap.:neener:

So what you guys are saying is : If it comes down to Hillary vs Thompson or Obama vs Thompson, you will sit out the election and give the white house to Hillary/Obama? What a brilliant plan.

I won't speak for the "Guys".
If it comes down to Hillary vs Thompson or Obama vs Thompson It won't make a **** bit of difference.
Same road, same driver, different color car.

Fred Thompson will be a continuation of Bush policies in almost all areas. In fact there is very little difference in his platform and Bush's.

He supports the neverending War on Terror.
He voted for Patriot Act, Medicare Reform, and Campaign Finance Reform.

I predict a lot of conservatives will vote for Fred, and then be shocked when Fred turns out, like Bush, to not be conservative.

Remember a few years ago there were quite a few people on this very forum to find out that President Bush actually supported the AWB.

Fred Thompson will be a continuation of Bush policies in almost all areas.
No he won't. If he gets the nomination he won't win the general election for exactly these same reasons.
A vote for Thompson in the primary is a vote for Hillary in the general.

I'm voting Paul in the primaries. Just reuped my drivers license today and registered...republican so I could vote in the primaries. If Ron Paul is not a contender, then I'm voting for hilary for the same reasons that molon labe is.:barf:

Fred Thompson is a bit scary for me. I don't like his ties to Nixon and how he tried to cover up for his government and leak evidence to protect crooked people. We just be replacing one set of Nixonites for another one and its quite sad that have the stuff you see now is how Thompson helped take down Nixon when he was the President's planted mole.

Sad thing there is that Ron Paul is probrobly the best there, even though I have some problems with his policies.

why no Richardson? I'm voting for him in the primaries just becuase I think we need a pro-gun Democrat.
I doubt he'll get the nomination, but people are saying he's really running for VP anyway.
I just want to powers that be to see that Democrats can get support for being pro-gun.

Does anyone know where I can look up Freds offical voting records. Not an idependent site because those arent credible but a goverment website. Id like to be able to see if the "smear" site was telling the truth or not. Going through all of the votes made in a year trying to find what he voted on is too time consuming. Ive searched and I cant seem to find a page that lists his voting history.

Ron Paul makes way too much sense for a Republican.....he must be an alien....

Fred Thompson "is dumb a hell but we are stuck with him" Nixon on Thompson who was defending Nixon......and lost.

McCain is lost. Pity, I respect his service to America.

John Edwards makes way too much sense for a Democrate...another alien.

Hilliary....well, what can I say!

Politics does not attract the brightest or the best.

Word has it Little Bush is going to blow someone to pieces, get us into ANOTHER looser of a war, declare Marshall Law, cancel the election and keep on truckin'.... This is going to be fun.

If you remember, Bush probed the waters with this back in 2004. "It might be too dangerous to have elections" was the premise behind his exploratory committee for declaring Martial law.

If that sumb!+c# tries it this time, I'm voting regardless of what he pulls.

Most apathetic, clueless Americans still think they're free and vote for whoever is leading in the polls..."I don't wanna waste my vote on Ron Paul because he'll never win". How selfish and complacent...etc....

Funny.

I was just over at facebook, and someone had an epiphany.

"Hey, Ron Paul is anti-gun control, right? We need to organize and introduce gun owners to Paul, they would love a candidate as pro-gun as he is!"

And then a bunch of follow ups about what a great idea that was.

So many people here won't get behind Paul because he isn't 'viable', thinking that only gun forums talk about him.

A shame.

I said:
Sorta depends on who the nominees are, doesn't it?
Reply:
Yes, we are supposed to sit back and wait till those are decided for us.
When the electable candidates are approved they will let you know who to vote for.
The question is "who are you going to vote for?" not "who do you support." I am assuming the question is referring to the general election. The only ticket I absolutely won't vote for is Clinton/Obama. I'm not going to sit it out and help that ticket from hell win.
