I can go either way, generally alone except now I hunt deer with a buddy and generally a son or grandson around to help. After 70 I am more cautious.

Remington 7600 carbine in 3006 with a 2x7 leupold scope, 165gr nosler at 2700 fps with imr 4350. the buck was a messed up 4 point, one side a 12" cruved spike and the other side had 3 points. it needed to be taken out of the breeding pool, darn nice eating. I hunt the same area for the first three days and have killed quite a few bucks and does there.

Great photos I started deer hunting with a Rem 760 in 30.06 in 1973. I use the 165g spire points and IMR 4350 in my reloads also , I think mine are about 2500 FPS as I used the starting load of 52g from the old Lyman plastic bound manual.it was an accuracy load it is very accurate in my 760!! I don't like the sharp recoil of heavier loads. I bought a TC venture in 7mm 08 and deer hunt with the bolt gun now. my 760 is may back up gun.

Looks like your 7600 may be the carbine Model??

Depending on the situation I will hunt with or with out another. I nearly always horse & mule pack into wilderness areas & have come to favor the solo experiences the most. To be totally honest a good solo hunt can be a true spiritual experience for me.
