You know what

I don't think Danner exists any more. They are just a name now. Somebody bought them, and is taking cheap Chinese crap and selling the name.

If you're going to buy White's or Westco's you should see if they can be found anywhere near you. Some folks don't like the high arch.

Anyway, I've killed several pair of Redwing loggers, and moved to Westco's. You can get them easily here, and the quality's a good bit better. I've never seen them Down South, though.

I'm gonna have to go with Redwing. Comfortable to work and play in. My local Redwing shop will send the boots back to Redwing for free to have any repairs made. I found that very cool

Yeah, I've had similar positive experiences with them.

I had a pair of waterproof Red Wing workboots I wore on jobsites pretty much every day for three years. Eventually one of the sideseams started to split open, so I went back to the shop where I bought them to see about getting them repaired. I figured I'd have to pay for the fix, since any warranty period obviously would have expired, right? Wrong. Guy behind the counter took one look at them, said "Red Wing boots shouldn't fail like that", brought my name up in the computer, found my size, went in the back and got me a brand new pair of boots. No charge. No questions. No problems.

They make great boots, but that isn't the only reason why I'm loyal to them. Having a strong network of local dealers with good customer service means a lot too.

Matterhorn ATD boots.... great all year round boot. they are a little taller then others and go a little higher up the leg, but all leather with a 4 season temperature liner, and water proof with gore tex.

I've had mine for seven or eight years and had them resoled once...

Some Danners US -some China. Check website and then call Portland to verify your selection. I got a pair or Raptor 400 gm Thinsulate in Sept and am pleased-$255 from some shoe store but shipped directly from Portland to me.
Am still breaking them in.
