There is an old saying.."It rides like a Cadillac" That is just not true! Only a Cadillac can ride like a Cadillac. In the 1911 world it is Colt. "Oh it shoots like a Colt and Colt parts will fit it".. Horse Feathers!

Only a Colt shoots like a Colt. And Colt Parts will always fit better in a Colt.

My opinion is there is no better 1911A1 than a Colt Series 70 and Glock is the best designed handgun of all so far.

springfield armory's LW operators are about $900. these are the most accurate 1911's i've ever fired. my champion operator never jams either. it's actually hard not to keep shooting through the same hole with this thing:

yep, i have the para gi expert too. paid $550 for it, and there is nothing that can touch it at that price with the features and fit it comes with.

(the msrp is only $600, never seen it more than $550, and actually most places it's $500--$700 is a rip)

Touchy question. Of my Kimber, Springfields, Colts and STI's, I vote STI. My next 1911 will be a Dan Wesson in 10mm though - if I can ever find one local.
