I've been poking around, and other than a few Remington variants I can't seem to find anyone who makes a bolt-action 223 with iron sights. Does anyone know of such a beast?

CZ used to make the 527 with iron sights. Haven't checked recently, but they had a neat little fullstock carbine with set trigger that looked good to me. They make other styles too, so you may want to check them out.

CZ makes the 527 and 550 with iron sights, don't know of any other manufacturers off the top of my head though.

You can still get the Tikka T3 variants with iron sights in some calibers - I don't know specifically about .223 though

About twenty minutes at a gunsmith, a trip to the Brownells catalog and a bolt gun, and you can put anything you want on them.

I too mourn the lack of irons on modern rifles.

Most hunters have no freaking clue how to shoot without a scope.

Growing up on military rifles, I don't use scopes 90% of the time (dot scopes notwithstanding......those have iron backups )

My Remington 700 BDL has iron sights:

You can order irons on Rugers too.

Jefnvk? The Savages I've seen lately used a plastic front sight assembly.Does your friends actually have a metal sight? If so,I'll have to look a bit harder at them.I'd about given up.

The CZ 527 Lux in .223 has very good iron sights. :)

Personally I prefer a Lyman peep sight though.
