See above. I'm looking for a place that I can buy 7.62x39mm ammo in bulk. Who has the best prices, service, etc?

I know a dealer who works the shows in my area. I find with the shipping cost that they usually match or beat anyone elses deal. Also, they have cut me some great breaks over the years that keeps me coming back.

However, ammoman.com gets any business that they don't.

Usually only buy from CTD when I'm down in Fort Worth visiting folks; they tack on a charge for ammo orders in addition to shipping.

Usually local stores, or there's a couple of ammo dealers who show up at gun shows several times a year, that's where I buy most of my milsurp stuff.

Let's say for the sake of argument, that you had to buy the ammo online. I can't go to Fort Worth, Texas:neener: . I'll check ammo man.

I typically order from aimsurplus.com, sportsmansguide.com, or ammoman.com (this guy has great deals from time to time).

Never had a problem with any of them.

I've bought from all of them in the past, and also from Ammoman.com,
Natchezss.com, and cabelas.com for bulk stuff.

FYI, most of these places list that they have 7.62x39 in stock, until it's in your shopping cart. Only then do they tell you it'll be August before they get any. I would go local for this round, because at least you leave with what you asked for.

Sportsmansguide.com only has these Winchester $12.00 20rd boxes in stock.

Cheaperthandirt SEEMS to have 500rd Wolf for $80.00, and
some other boxed brands for $9.53 per 20rd.

Cabelas seems to be backordered.

I like ammoman since the price you see is the one you pay.

It's sort of a petty issue I guess. However, I have spent hours in the past shopping around and thinking I found a better deal than he had only to find out that once all the charges got stuck on it wasn't a deal at all.

Just to make my life simplier I shop with him now.

I've bought from sportsmansguide, but not the other two. I selected "other." I've bought a fair amount from MidwayUSA and Natchez Shooter's Supply, and lesser amounts from other online suppliers. For 7.62x39 there is probably no good, single, consistently reliable, online source. I don't buy it, but understand the current situation. I do buy .223, and while the current situation not as bad as for 7.62x39, I do have to shop around, and keep my eyes open, for available supplies at decent prices.

I pretty much buy at Wally World.
when I go visit my Daughter in NC I go by Bass Pro and pick up some ammo.
Soon she's going to get a Gander.
But lately I've been checking the net.
I'm also considering reloading.
So, I'm all over the place.

Normally I buy bulk from Natchez, AIM, or MidwayUSA.

Looks like the days of the 1000 rnds for $90 of 7.62x39 appear to be over. I don't use 7.62x39 but from what I have heard bulk surplus has all but dried up. I have heard of gunshows with a few boxes of Wolf priced at $4 a box selling out in a matter of hours.

Outdoor Marksman says they have about 145 units of Wolf 7.62x39 122gr Bi-Metal JHP, for $3.09-$3.50/20 rds.

So far, all my online purchases have been made at Ammoman. Face to face purchases have been made at Wal-mart, Sportsman's Warehouse, or Milwall at gunshows.

I like Ammoman for the straight-up price and fast shipping.

Ammoman has given me great service...same with Georgia Arms. I will occasionally buy from Cabelas.

Milwall at gunshows or WallyWorld.

Ammoman always seems to be out of 7.62X39 when I want it.

I used to buy a good deal from cheaperthandirt, but now use aimsurplus. Cheaperthandirt's prices went up, they added a fee for ammo, and they started a special "buyer's club". Why should I have to pay a club fee to get my items for the same price I used to? Those three added together peeved me off somewhat, so I switched to aimsurplus. I always had good results from cheaperthandirt though.

I buy .22, .40, .45, and 9mm from Wal-mart because they wind up being cheaper or the same once you consider shipping. If I could find a decent supply of lead, I'd roll my own.

Look's like all that (East Coast warehouse) has sold out. I hope it was you that got it. If not, they have 4279 packs of the same ammo in under their West Coast warehouse. That looks to be the last Wolf/surplus 7.62x39 they have.
