Got my C&R FFL today. Mailed it in May 6th, seems real fast based on the discussions in the threads that got me motivated to do it.

If it's just the license, I could do it with 25 sheets of paper instead of 50.

50 copies may be a few too many. You really can get by with about 10 or 15.

You guys give me great encouragement. I sent off for my forms from BATF on Monday. I was thinking that if I can get the forms in two weeks I can send them off and hopefully get my C&R by August.

I sat on the couch addressing enevelops and stuffing them with a copy of my C&R for a couple of hours the day I got it.

So far it's only been a small box with a CZ82 in it. Really made my day though .

I actually copy BOTH sides of the entire document. Can you 'get away' with just the informative part? Sure-

but why take a chance that someone might have a little 'fit' over it and demand a 'complete' copy.

Many places online will take a scan of the thing now, too---so get a 150dpi .jpg color scan of the document to have handy for uploading w/ your state ID included in the same file also.

Being in Illinois, I've got my DL, my FOID, and my C/R as a single .jpg image---makes online ordering easier.

What is the advantage of a C&R

Well the biggest advantage for me is being able to have the firearm sent directly to my house rather than through a FFL. Saves on transfer fee's.

Also, MidwayUSA gives me a discount of items I buy.
