I've got my Tennessee resident Handgun Carry Permit. I also went ahead and got Pennsylvania and New Hampshire non-resident credentials.

Next may be Maine and Virginia.

Of course, Utah and Florida are probably the most popular NR states.

Adding a non-resident license can give you right to carry in states that don't recognize your resident permit....but why else would you get a 2nd or more permit ?

What's your reason ? Could it help or hurt you in the courtroom if you have to shoot in a SD situation ?

I have the NH permit since it allows me to carry in the southern states that do not recognize my Ohio CHL.

Have Florida,Pennsylvania,New Hampshire and Utah.
Giving me reciprocity in about 34 states.
I got NH and PA simply to support their excellent ,low cost programs as they really didn't add to reciprocity total.
Utah does add about 3 states to my FL License.

I am from Illinois so I have six; Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Florida, Utah, Connectuit and Maine. When I retire in a couple years my wife wants to travel around the US so I want to be legal in as many places as possible. Jim.

I have two. One of which is a state permit only good in that state, and the other is a state permit that's good in 29 states. That makes 31 states, including Vermont, in which I'm authorized to carry concealed.

Ahh. I thought you have to live in these states to get a permit.

Can someone tell me which states are the easiest to get an out of state permit?

Can one apply without having to travel to that state?

7 - CT FL ME NH PA UT and VA. We travel a lot, choosing to spend our time and money in those states that afford us the most protection. Supporting the cause and redundancy also are important (you never know when a state will change it's permit law).

FL resident and PA non-resident and thinking of Utah. The Utah CCW is good in NV and I travel there occasionally.

I'm with rambling one. I won't guarantee I will NEVER spend any tourist dollars in non-ccw states, but I will absolutely give priority to and let those that do break a tie.

I have a grand scheme in mind, in the next several years, to travel the east coast, waiting until Fidel dies, starting in Cuba, go up to St. Augustine, all the Civil War battle sites along the way, D.C., ending up at the WTC memorial. I would be able to carry through MOST of that, but not all of it.

Last I checked, my resident Utah permit is honored in 37 states, I'm not sure if I can do better than that as a non-resident in another state. (We just got Nevada.)
