I ‘m here for the reads. There is a lot of info here and a lot of nice people; it sure beats TV. This place is down to earth. I know that grammar seems to be the topic a lot,:scrutiny: which I know is good, but please forgive use that did not have good schooling. (1 teacher + 40 kids = huh) aside from that you welcome newcomers warmly and make them feel right at home here. Thanks for being here.

There are a few gay, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, animal loving, tree hugging, pistol packers out and about

And we need you and want you. The nice thing about the gunnie family is we don't discriminate or least we damn right shouldn't. Diversity equals strength. I personally don't care about your race, creed, religion, or sexual pref. if you are a gunny, you are family.

I'm here for the information and to pass on the bits of information that I have that others seek

I'm here cause I'm a gun nut from the mid west stationed in Commy Cali

I find there's nothing wrong with those fokes in "shotguns" and happen to spend time there

I'm here to hear what others use for the SHTF sinerios, I also learned how to put down Zombies too :neener:

I'm here to reenforce the fact that I love high capacity Mags and that bath robes don't come with mag pouches

I'm here because people here "probly don't feel that a criminal shot 50 times, after shooting at the police" was such a bad thing

I also feel at home here, were not too many will think I'm "out of control" by keeping loaded mags for each of my weapons and always keeping at least 500 rounds of 5.56 green tip and at least 100 rounds of .45acp on hand.

I haven't seen too many AR's with everthing but the kitchen sink hanging on thier hand guards, like you do on other sites

I love to hear how much better the M1 is than the M16 and how the M9 should never of been introduced to the US Military, and I can preach the 45acp is the greatest ever

Being among friends may one day keep us together if the 'system' ever comes for us...

I stumbled onto THR via web search and after discovering it can't stop visiting. Good folks here for the most part:D would rather scan THR than watch the news.

I believe that those of us that Love the shooting sports and more importantly believe in our 2nd Amendment rights need to educate and bring as many people as we can into the sport and show people why gun control only affects those already following our laws.

Educate

Educate

Educate Knowledge is Power

Why are you here?

Because I have opinions and you're gonna hear them.:D :neener:

Seriously, I came by way of "Gun Talk" the radio show when Tom Gresham plugged it during a broadcast. When I got here, I learned there were folks here from a place called The Firing Line who were happy to have a place to gather again.

Since then I've become a member on several online gun/hunting forums all pretty much on recommendation from folks here. THR and TFL are the one's visit and post on the most. The rest I visit every now and again.

I've found THR and TFL cool places to hang out and learn things and engage in conversations on a lot of gun and freedom related topics from people all over the world. I've learned more from the folks and at TFL here than I would have ever learned in a lifetime of gun rags, but I think that has more to do with the flexibility of an online forum since there isn't publishing deadlines to meet or topic restrictions.

I can't think of a group of people I'd rather be hanging out with even if there are issues we don't exactly agree on. The topics are always interesting, the input lively at times, and folks think enough of the place to be constantly engaged in the flow of information and debate.

I came here at first for the knowledge. This forum (y'alls inputs and ideas) is the most extensive encyclopedia of firearms on this planet, bar none.

I stay because you guys are pretty cool. I haven't actually met anyone on this forum, but if I did, I think I wouldn't have any trouble sitting down to a cup of coffee with them.

and LawDog's recipes.

Thanks Oleg.

To share my interest and just look at what alot of these people have done for others. Its like a brotherhood

Because I am bored at work...

..................................and this is the only gun forum that the internet nazis will let me on.......chris3

I consider THR to be my prime source & resource for info about all aspects of guns. I don't know it all, but I know MUCH more than I did when I first started visiting here. There is no way you can put a price on the wealth of info that is here, and if you can't find what you're looking for, just start a new post and you'll get replies from the 4 corners of the world. I'm always learning something new.

I don't visit many other boards, but everyone says THR is the best--people, posts, quality, etc. I don't doubt it.

No better place for someone who loves guns and shooting. Very non-judgemental crowd, very patient with newbs. Lots of good info. I used to wonder why folks wanted pics all the time. Now I know that this is replacing gun mags for many of us and we need the visual stimulation!

Other than the obvious source for information, the healthy sharing of ideas and opinions, I view THR as an oasis of gun-sanity in an otherwise arid, inhospitable desert of ignorance, deception, mis-information, fear and loathing that is the modern PC world.

Besides that, next to some of you guys, I almost seem "normal".:neener:

I enjoy reading about guns and such and sometimes share my experiences. :)

But mostly I am here to have my grammar and spelling deficencies criticized.:banghead:

There are alot of members of this site that think the way that I do about many different things. People that do the right things because they are the right things to do...oh and cause I love guns..lol...There are alot of good people on this site:)

i like it here because i can find a group of polite and knowledgable people who have similar interests. not really much else

i just like talking about the things i like with other people who are like minded (aka can fix my screw ups):)

Missouri Mule,

I think you should have a comma after "mostly"

Just trying to do my part bro'.

I'm from the government, and I'm here to help!

Psych! :barf:

Actually, I enjoy a (most of the time) Christian or similar values environment. I feel safe allowing my 11-year-old daughter (LilSureShot1994) to come here and read. It is nice having the searchable databases, and frank honesty when needed.

climate and inhabitants are perfect

I can read/talk about guns, issues and politics with folks that have a variety of views and the signal to noise ratio is really low.

I'm here primarily to service a debt I owe.

I'm also here to listen to discussions of the best path for gunowners in the future.

I'm always looking for new ideas to help bring in more shooters/gunowners.

Of course, it's also nice to see that there are so many people like me out there.

Cheers people,

Everything I wanted to say about this topic has already been said - in all textures and verbage. I agree!

I'm here because this forum is "home" - it's a place I'm comfortable spending time. It's a place I relax. But, most of all - it's where friends visit - even though I don't know you name or what you look like.

Coming here knocks my stress level and blood pressure down into the "livable" range. For that - I thank you ALL!

Plus, I LEARN here.

Gentle winds,
cr
