Why can't I find a Kahr MK40 Elite?

I get why I can't find a Sig 556 SWAT or ER model.

Why I can't find a Kahr MK40 Elite though - that baffles me. It doesn't take over 10 rounds, isn't really on the list of targeted guns for a potential ban... but yet, not a single store in the tri-county area has one nor can seem to get one.

I guess they are putting their efforts in to more popular guns. I got lucky and found an MK9 Elite a couple of months ago and I have seen none since.

Don't worry. I'll get revenge. A burning bag of dog poop in front of Kahr's corporate HQ front door should do the trick.

J/K

I would like to find another one in the state. I think I'm going to have to call every store within a 5 hour drive.

The MK40 is an excellent choice. Unfortunately that model was in short supply before the madness set it. The poly Kahrs are the big sellers and logically that is where Kahr places their manufacturing priorities. Try one of the firearms auction sites.

Not to make you feel bad, but I picked up a very lightly used MK40 a few weeks ago for $400. I love it.

There's a new MK9 Elite in the local gunshop near my college. It's really nice, but pricy. I just shot my new-to-me K40 today, and I can see why the all-steel Kahrs are so difficult to find-people don't want to put them down after they handle them!

I waited near 8 months for my MK9 elite night sights.

It was SOOOOOO worth it, and that was in 07

It's hard to find a bargain in this market. Also, it has extra mags and a set of wood grips. Is it a good deal? That's up to the buyer. Looking for a hard to find gun in a sellers market does not equal bargain basement prices.

Because

They are so cool looking, Chuck Norris buys them all.

Looking as good as they do with a solid performance rep, be patient, you will find one albeit probably slightly under list at best.

I was able to order one last August for around $750 from a local outfit and received it in 3 days. Looks like I lucked out.

Wow. They're going for $300+ profit with that price. Dealer cost is around $626 for the MK40 Elite. That's roughly 33% of the sale being profit, or approximately 1/3.

Didn't say it was cheap, they are selling it for MSRP so not exactly gouging considering how hard they are to find.

not gouging. Just atypically expensive. They seem to actually have 10 in stock.

Is this place reputable? If I bought one from them, would I be getting one that is customer molestation free?

that is

not normally a stocking gun the elite models. I wold venture to guess one would have to have their dealer order it and then before I would do that I would have the dealer calland see wha tthe time period is also. Guns of all brands are selling faster than hot cakes.

That is one hell of a kahr though that u are after. good luck ..

I found a MK40 two weeks ago. Like new in original box with all original mags paperwork etc, original owner $525 delivered. Found it on gunsamerica.com. Nice shooter, big recoil, cool, accurate, heavy gun. Just FYI

It's very nice. I have 1 already. I am thinking of getting a PM40 as well. I just like getting my guns in pairs. Don't ask why.... if I told you, your brain might explode from how dumb it is.
