Both the instore and online price at Sportsmans Warehouse is $10 for a one pound jar. Been at that price for months. The reviews i've read say it's good stuff.

I like it well enough too, and was surprised at the price as well. Most other places price it at 25 dollars or more.

I've never used it, but their marketing seems a bit far fetched.
They claim it has better ignition than real Black Powder. I've never had any problem igniting dry real Black Powder. Is is supposedly able to ignite even when wet?

The company also says it's "virtually non-corrosive".

The only black powder substitute that I know of that is non-corrosive is Blackhorn 209. However, Western Powder Co. charges so much for it that it must have gold dust in it.

A local black powder barrel maker likes Black MZ very much. I've never heard bad comments about it from users.

I stick with the real stuff. Old Eynsford seems to be the best domestic black powder available.

Cheap? Lucky you don't live in Australia. Last quote was $72.00 and the importer is waiting on delivery

Just goes on sale to clear out the old stock and bring in fresh stuff. If its slow moving, cut the price and move it.

i'm dedicated user of Black MZ powder. Prior that i used Goex Pinnacle powder until it went away. Pinnacle was made by the same company: APP.

My blackpowder guns often stay loaded for many months. Black MZ has always gone bang when it was supposed too.

Maybe. IMO: Black MZ and Pinnacle are the same powder. Last year a ten year old can of my 3F Pinnacle went bad.

If its kept closed up in a new can it should last for a very long time. 5lbs wouldnt last long at my place.

    Thanks dr1445

That $25 hazmat fee kinda kills it for me. Wish there was a store near me.

I like the stuff, works in my 22 NAA, 36cal underhammer, 50cal pistol, 54 cal rifle, and cannons. I does smell a little like baked chicken, which makes me hungry, look a squirrel!

Haha. I live in Australia, a great country run by great idiots, we can't be trusted to do such a thing.
