I used to have a C&R license, and I used to live in Massachusetts. Neither apply now, but have noticed that a lot of online sellers won't ship to C&R holders in those states.

I wonder if someone can explain how those states have managed to prevent people from exercising the rights of a Federal C&R license holder?

Thanks!

I live in MA. I grew up here, moved away for college and work. Moved back for a woman. That's how dumb I am. Anyway.

It is less pure legal issue, than the fact that the laws have been made a PITA enough that vendors won't bother. For instance, here in MA, we've got 5 different permits, and lists of "unsafe" firearms.

Add to that a very liberal voting pool, shake, and serve.

The States are free to pass more restrictive gun laws than the Federal ones.....unfortunately. Hopefully Heller will affirm some limits at least.

First of all, Heller won't mean anything to MA. This state routinely thumbs its nose at anything it feels like. They literally don't care about the rule of law or the Constitution.

Secondly, as a previous poster said, even though C & R is perfectly legal to ship to MA, most of the vendors have been intimidated by this miserable state and they have chosen not to fool with it.

Same thing applies to ammunition sales. Even though there is nothing illegal about shipping ammo to MA, most of the vendors won't because of fear of harassment by the state.

This is a facist state controlled by Marxists. Much like the US will be after November.

Actually, most of the problems being referenced are not "laws", but "consumer protection actions" (read: restraint of free trade) being enacted by a series of anti-gun AGs starting with Scott Harshbarger. Very few in Massachusetts government are either strong enough or inclined enough to take the AG on.

This is correct. AG here attacked guns through "consumer protection" and it flew. I wouldn't have much of my collection, if I hadn't have brought it here. Colt Pythons and all.
