Why not go back over to TFL for a moment?

I have posed a simple question over there Why not cut the archived threads off at Rich's closing announcement? .

I have enjoyed the farewells etc. but the general jist of the place has been thoughtless post by new members by the tons.

thoughtless post by new members by the tons.

Considering that there have been no new members since the announcement, I find that kind of puzzling. I think making another sweep of the site and putting farewell posts in the right place is a good idea. Deleting everything posted after the announcement does not seem like a good idea to me, and I don't think Rich will do it. After all, why wouldn't he have just made the announcement and then closed the forum if that was what he wanted?

You're right Triad, Rich wouldn't do that. We've discussed the topic and will probably do a little clean up and moving, leaving some threads where they sit now. I doubt that any will be deleted. The "good bye" threads are as much of the heritage as any of the others.

Most of the Farewell posts are being moved to the Farewell Forum. I imagine the last few hours will be a little lax, then some cleanup will take place.
