Sounds familiar...all too familiar...
I've been married for not quite a year now, so I'm new to the game. My wife (then fiance) was pretty cool about me and my very modest gun collection before we got married, but seems to tolerate my gun habit less and less every day. And it's not like I spend a lot...I've bought 3 CHEAP guns (not bad, just inexpensive) in the last year and she thinks it's overindulgence...of course, my reloading habit may contribute to that feeling (although most of my reloading stuff came from gift certificates to Midway my family gave me for birthdays/holidays).
So, lately, I've been thinking about some items that have been showing up around our house that I don't recall authorizing...not that I'm an authority, but you know what I mean. Seems she buys lots of stuff she wants and says it's for 'us'...except I have no interest at all. Digital scales that measure body fat, bone mass density, IQ, blah blah blah...1247 different kinds of carpet scent powder...dishes in addition to the 3 sets we've still never used...food that neither of us like (that rotts and goes completely to waste)...2987 different kinds of bubble bath (yeah, she likes smelly things)...dozens of CDs that she never listens to...etc etc...you get the idea. And she never asked me about any of this stuff.
Well, I decided that it was time to quit feeling guilty for spending some money on some things I've been wanting, that I WILL use and WILL NOT go to waste.
So, please...BUY GUNS! Enjoy yourself! Take pleasure in your freedom to own firearms just in case we are less free to enjoy them in the future...last time I checked there were no organizations that will ever try to prevent our wives from enjoying purses and shoes in the future.
