Hey any New Yorkers out there spottig any hogs here in NY the papers say their here , but I have not seen one in what the say is the center of hog activity in NY ?

Yes, I heard that too somewhere near scott ny in central ny I'm heading there soon local media say hogs are in allegany state park too that were I been hunting and not a one no sign either!! Media hipe I guess . Well I'll have to head down the road eastbound I'm in wny and there's nothing here despite media blitz

None here in the Southern Tier (East of Allegany SP is where I am).

But, if you do see them, the state has the best policy ever: If you have a small-game license, blast 'em. They're not native, so I don't feel bad... oh, and I love bacon :) .

Oregon's area has grown since I last looked at the swine map. I'd like to hunt them, but rather they be eliminated due to their damage to the land and bunny-like reproductive propensities.

Interesting. Didn't ever think about them migrating to that part of the country...Well, don't worry about it. Just learn to get along with them. I understand that NYC is already full of 2 legged wild animals that need nothing less than a good Uberti 1847 Colt Walker stuck up their ass. Ain't gonna happen though....

Thirty some years ago there used to be some in the Blossvale/Taberg area, no idea if they are still there in any numbers.

Quick, where's my democratically-approved, microstamping, 10 round, solid stock, no muzzlebrake/flashhiding, hog rifle? :(

Sorry, they get me worked up with their never-ending tirade against the RTKBA.

I have heard there here, in fact the dec book says you can hunt them anytime with a small or big game lic, but you must report it. That being said, I have not seen any sign up here in Oneida county area.

DEC claiming most of the pigs are in Tioga county, this is the worst place to hunt since it has almost no public lands. Thing is I live in this exact county and I been watching for piglets running loose, so far I haven't seen any... Here is survey DEC performed last year, they claim that they caught 17 of them in my county, this thing really puzzles me.... Elusive pigs :)

"Tioga County
Wildlife Services monitored 9 properties for feral swine activity that encompassed over 1,800acres in Tioga County along the Pennsylvania border. Feral swine were seen or photographed onall properties. At least 30 unique pigs were documented, including the 17 killed by WildlifeServices. Prior to WS’ presence, 6 feral swine were shot in corn fields by local farmers.Extensive rooting damage to corn fields and adjacent bottomland wood lots was alsodocumented. No FLIR surveys were conducted in Tioga County"

that's what local news showed

This is great to read. I have been working in the Elmira,Ny area. I had heard that they were only over the line in PA. It would be nice to fine out where to hunt them in both states.
