Will net tax affect our hobby?

I've been paying sales tax online for a few years now. Paying it doesn't bother me in general, but I'm not a fan of being required to pay tax on previously owned items from auction sites. If it wouldn't be subjected to tax locally (auction, garage sale) it shouldn't be taxed online. Kinda double dipping it seems.

But, it's not the end of the world...especially since most of the things I shop for are seldom found locally. So I look at it as a built in cost.

the biggest threat to our hobby is not even anti-2A politicians, it is poorly run firearms manufacturers and ammunition companies. They have had a year to fix their supply chain issues and still nada. Is this going to be the norm until we have a new POTUS?
Sweet story.

I see no way around paying internet tax , or any tax for that matter . Taxes suck, but they will never keep me from buying something that puts a smile on my face.

Yes, more taxes are the best. Let’s have more taxes please!
What 'more taxes'? Perhaps the taxes you have been ducking?

I do not know about your state but here, one pays only the sales tax of the state of the buyer, not BOTH states. (The People's Democratic Socialist Republics of California, New York and New Jersey might be different, but that's not surprising.)

You admit you have no clue, yet you pick out 3 states to bad mouth ? Also the way you named them seems quite childish, just saying !

Edit : Also very rude you accuse a complete stranger of ducking taxes, now that takes some big internet muscles..

I buy nearly all of the supplies for my small time business (full time fishing guide and part time fishing stuff maker...) through the net - if it's not needed right this instant... Taxes on line or in person - the cost of doing business... Yes, it was nicer a few years ago - but the government does need money to operate (even if I flat disagree with many of the things they find "necessary"...) so like most I put up with it. Large scale operators (I'm my only worker... ) have managed to save lots and lots of money using the 'net as their supplier(s) but all of that will soon be a thing of the past.

I long ago quit going to any store for social purposes - and only visit one when I have a particular need - must be turning into an old guy.... I do agree with Stuart Varney that this is the retail "Ice Age" and that most stores will have to adapt or die off...

I am not aware of any Federal Government 'sales tax' (except the long existing tax on sporting arms and ammunition for wildlife programs). All sales taxes are state taxes. Unless you know of other factors. The state where I live has - as long as I have lived here - required sales tax on all internet purchases by independent persons (standard exemption for resale).

My preference is to buy locally as much as possible. However, as I collect WW1 rifles, I have to purchase through the internet simply for availability. I admit to purchasing ammunition in bulk via the internet as it's simpler (usually).

We don’t do politics, and it’s because we can’t refrain from bashing other gun owners opinions.

We are all in this together, Dem gun owners, Rep gun owners, and all other kinds of gun owners.

Infighting among gun owners makes the anti politicians grin from ear to ear.
