I have a 6.5 swede stainless synthetic. Looking at a 243 blued wood. Will the stock on one fit the other and vise-versa?

between t-3 and whitetail hunter, no.

amongst t-3's, someone else will have to chime in

Interesting question and the answer is YES. I recently (within the last two weeks) bought a Tikka stainless lite in 6.5x55 and a Tikka hunter (walnut) in 30-06, both T-3's. I bought the Hunter strictly for the stock and was able to exchange between the two rifles, no problem.

I wanted the walnut for the 6.5 Swede because I will be shooting hunter class bench at the local Ikes and the walnut allows a much better bed. To my knowledge 6.5 Swede in stainless is not available with wood from the factory. I bought the 30-06 (in blue) because I felt it would be a desirable enough caliber to re-sell with the synthetic stock.

I'd be interested to know your reason for the switch........

Good shooting

theoldgringo,

Looking at a t3 blued synthetic for a "cheaper" truck/coyote gun. Just thinking variety. The life of the 243 will be rougher than the swede. Thought the synthetic would be better for that abuse and the wood would look good with the stainless.

Post some pics of your swede when you het everything switched, I would like to see how it looks.

Viking............You have a good idea with the knockabout 243. If the '06 had iron sights I would, for sure, be keeping both rifles. Since it doesn't I'll be hunting deer with an 03A3 this fall, or if it looks as though I'll get into some open spaces (slim chance), I'll use the 6.5.

I'll get a photo, or two posted later today, or the week-end sometime......

Decided to get on it and get it done. Here are the photos.
