Do you plan to buy anything before the election that might end up on a ban list in the future? Such as a semi-auto, "assault weapon", high cap mags, etc.

I don't think any ban will be pushed off right away, maybe a year in or so.

Hopefully nothing would pass, I have high hopes that the new Democrat won't be the typical LA, NY anti gun bigot.

They weren't elected to ban guns, they were elected to deal with Iraq,

YUP

Bought a "high capacity" (17 rd) handgun and extra mags last summer... currently have about 800 rds stockpiled for it. Just built an AR15 with mean, nasty things such as a collapsible stock, bayonet lug, and pistol grip... No "shoulder thing that goes up" though LOL. Expecting my Florida non-resident CCW permit in a week too.

****ing Obama wants to ban all semiautomatic firearms...

Planning on sinking most of my spare cash into .223 and 9mm ammo before the prices get too ridiculous. I'd like to have 2,000 9mm and 1,000 .223 before November.

Yes! I don't trust the top 2 to 3 candidates.

We don't have any top runners who know what the Constitution means and they would shred it just as past and present ones shredded it and/or IGNORED it!

The date of the November election is not significant. What is significant in this context is Inauguration Day--and the rather unlikely possibility of an Executive Order of some inimical sort. Other than that, however, nothing will blow through the Congress with any particular suddenness.

If something was going to happen it won't be until the end of next year. I personally don't think we will see another AWB on the federal level any time soon.

As far as the no ccw deal, that will not happen on the federal level. States rights and all.

Already did, in case Obama gets in (Please, God - no!) and tries to start a national gun grab.

An M1 Garand, before Omaba/McCain (what's the difference) shuts the CMP down. And some surplus .30-06 ammo.

The key date is January, not November.

Difference is, with McCain we get a "C" candidate. With Obama we get an "F" candidate. Big difference, in my book.

No, only because I've been making "just in case" purchaces for the last two years. My brother keeps hounding me into buying a Harley, but I keep telling him they will outlaw guns before they would ever outlaw Harleys.

Been There Done That.

Hey there;
None of this is new ! Depends on how old you are. .
I have been there for years and years.
I have enough to pass around.
Me and mine have been locked and stocked for a long time.

The politically incorrect 1/2" Bore!!

I juast added my third .50 Cal to the safe! I figured better safe than sorry. You may as well keep your max distance from any zombies right?

I would advise people to STOP buying firearms and be sure that you have plenty of ammo. You'll run out of ammo fighting the NATO troops that Obama will call in to disarm you before you run out of firearms.

Be ready, the Revolution starts next year.

I wish I could share your optimism but everything that's out there on Obama suggests that he is worse than the "typical anti gun bigot"

Definitely...

Wants to ban semiautomatic firearms. Opposes CCW by anyone. Supports a ban on the manufacture, sale, and possession of handguns. Opposed a law on immunity to people violating local ordinances if they acted in self defense. Opposed allowing people with domestic violence protective orders to carry handguns for their protection.

Sounds like the Antichrist.

Not to get off topic but all of you who have any hopes of Obama going easy on gun rights, please read the following:

http://www.ontheissues.org/Domestic/Barack_Obama_Gun_Control.htm

If there was any issue on which Obama rarely deviated, it was gun control. He was the most strident candidate when it came to enforcing and expanding gun control laws.

From the link above.

Back on topic: Yes I will make a "just in case" purchase.

Nope. What will happen will happen. No road is so short or so long that it can't be crossed twice.

Shine it...

Bought myself a Bushmaster AR15A2 for X-mas. I hope to add an M4gery to the herd and if I'm really lucky, an M1A.

Just curious, whats the difference between an AR15 flattop and an M4gery?

Hey Camacho, you wouldn't happen to have any relatives in Chicago would you? My girlfriend's family is Puerto Rican living in the city.

My AR is an A2 style, not a flat top, but the main difference is barrel length. 20 inches is standard for the full length rifle, 16 inches for the M4 carbine.

My rifle is like the top one in this pic.

These are M4 style carbines.
