Cap'n Kirk gets my vote. He's not like that wussy gun grabber Picard...

That is good stuff. I love Big Bill Shatner. Ever hear his spoken word album? I can't remember the name, but it was hilarious. He does spoken word versions of "Lucy in the sky with Diamonds", "Mr. Tambourine Man" as well as various Shakespeare, set to music. The speech from Henry V is the one I remember. I think it might be called "The Transforming Man" or something similar, I used to own it.
Anybody know Shatner's real take on RKBA? I know he's Canadian and all but it would be interesting to know.

yep - he's on the NRA list of anti's.

'fore anyone gets all warm and fuzzy over him, Kirk's a grabber and the poster is a fake.

I'm just going to have nightmares about the potential speaches and sound bites.

I guess all that time at warp speed has warped him. Anyone ever hear that dreadful album he put out? If you are into Star Trek then a certain Ms.Ryan who played 7 of 9 would be my choice. She likes guns and she is far better looking than Shatner.

I also love that line she uses, "Resistance is futile"! Sigh! As if I ever would!:D

William Shatner may be anti-gun, but there's no way Captain Kirk is.

CAPT Kirk: "The rights of galactic citizens to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

CAPT Jean Luc Picard: "Phaser rifle for sale. Make offer. Never fired, only dropped once."

CAPT Sisko: "If you want to shoot a phaser, join Star Fleet, we have lots of them."

CAPT Janeway: "Won't someone please think of the children???"

CAPT Archer: "Huh?"

The character of Captain Kirk was my kind of guy: drinks, smokes cigars, blows things up with high-powered weapons, makes out with strange women. I mean, what's left?

If that poster is supposed to be anti-NRA, it isn't very effective. It is just funny as hell and its meaning is ambiguous.

As for Shatner himself being anti-RKBA...um, how is that determined, exactly? If the guy said something that was sorta anti-gun once, who cares? The guy made a living pretending to shoot people with plastic cuttlefish glued on their heads, for crying out loud. I don't see how we sould be getting worked up about him being a threat to RKBA. Star Trek certainly isn't anti-RKBA; it just sort of assumes that everybody and their brother (and aliens and robots and...) has a high-energy beam weapon with them. Hell, that's a RKBA utopia! :D

A friend of mine says that among the Star Trek cognoscenti she's known as "2 of D."

ROTFL!!!

Yeah, Jeri Ryan gets my vote. It's too bad Shatner's (supposedly) and anti, though. Good actor though -- just watching star trek, you would swear he was pro-gun.
