Wilson Combat AR Barrels?

I need to build a few AR uppers in a couple boutique calibers and Wilson Combat at first glance seems to have decent options and reasonable prices on a wide variety of calibers. Has anyone ever tried any of their barrels (not just their rifles as a package)? If so have you paid the extra $40 for their Armor-Tuff (assuming similar to Duracoat) coating?

I’ve got a couple of their 6.8 SPC barrels and a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. The Creedmoor barrel is FDE Armor-Tuff or whatever they call it. Looks like Cerakote. All three barrels are EXTREMELY accurate. I don’t know who makes a better barrel for the money. I’ll gladly purchase WC barrels for future builds.

I have a Wilson Combat 16-inch "Tactical Hunter" profile barrel in 6.8 SPC. This upper, which I assembled using an Aero Precision upper, is the most accurate of all my ARs. I got just the plain-Jane stainless steel barrel.

18” Tactical Hunter Fluted barrel from WC. Their FDE matches Magpul.
16” Recon profile WC barrel in 6.8 SPC that I had fluted. WC offers the fluting as a factory option these days though.

I have an 11.3" 300 ham'r barrel from Wilson. Looks nice, and shoots better than I can. If I do my part, I can regularly get 3 that cloverleaf with a couple fliers using a sandbag and a 6x scope at 100 yds. I think the fliers are my fault.

I think Wilson makes a better barrel than ballistic advantage, and maybe a little better than faxon. At least, mine seems to shoot noticeably better than my BA and a little better than the faxon.

I have an air gauged, match grade Wilson barrel on my Varminter AR. It’s probably 20+ years old now. Back before I went on my fist Prairie dog hunt I worked up hand loads that would put three shots into nickel size groups at 250+ yards. If I could still find the pix I’d post them

That’s a sample size of one, so FWIW applies

When I built my newest upper I got an 18” Wilson match for it, but haven’t shot for groups yet. Decent price, but I’ve had the barrel a while

My Wilson Combat 18" 300 Hamr has been pleasingly accurate, haven't shot much and haven't done much load development. But appears to be high quality and with some more time it will only get better.

I have one of their 16" Grendel Recon barrels and have been happy with it for a lightweight barrel.

They recently came out with two lightweight 18" 6mm ARC barrels, one with RLGS and one with MLGS. I ordered the RLGS one while the website showed it in stock and then got an email that they had oversold their stock and immediately cancelled that model in favor of the (in my opinion) sub-optimal MLGS version. Seems like a dumb move accompanied by crappy customer service, so while I was kind of a fan, now I'm not too stoked on them.

Edit: I'm sure people are aware, but Wilson Arms is not the same as Wilson Combat.

I have the Ranger 16” 6.8 SPC, Anderson upper. Very accurate and light wt. I do wish they made this in 18 or 20”.
