these were not picked up at a yard sale, but several doors down on saturday. i stopped at a yard sale saturday to look at some tools, no sporting items were out and as i looked at the tools a man ask if i was interested in any other tools as he lived several doors down and also had some he wanted to sale . i went down the street to his house and looked at them and they were no better than the ones at the yard sale, out of the blue i ask if he had any sporting items he wanted to sale and he brought these out of his house and said they were his fathers and it was time to maybe get rid of them, we may a very good deal for me on the three guns and a ww-2 fighting knife. the win 97 in 12ga is in well used condition, made in 1902,the model win 12 in 12ga is in very good used condition made in 1937 and the beretta model 1934 in .32 auto is in ex condition, marked 1952. the knife is in well used condition. i shot the shotguns several times with my trap loads with out any problems firing-ejecting fired cases. it pays to ask some times. eastbank.

I don`t mean to be out of line, but ((( YOU ARE KILLING ME ))) what was the price. If You don`t mind telling me. Either way IMHO You just pick ups some real treasures. And I am really happy for You.

a little south of 700.00. i just ask what his best price was, i may have gotten them a little cheaper. but i was good with the asking price. eastbank.

eastbank: You did very well, in my way of thinking anyway. And besides your not suspose to take advantage of ((( Little Kids, and Old Folks ))). I have my Dad`s Model 12 16 gauge and the rest of His guns and also my Grandmothers 410 shotgun. And I try to shoot them all few times a year. I have an old 97 Win 12 Gauge, that is in like new condiction that I got from an Old Man about 10 or 12 years ago. I gave Him $225.00 for it I belive. It was the price He was asking. But that Old 97 Win has a ((( $ 10,000.00 Story ))) to go along with it.

Great finds - but one of warning on that Beretta. My FIL brought one back from WWII and the hammer/slide bite is serious; otherwise it is solid and shoots great

I also have one of those knives in pristine condition; my dad was a cop and took it off some kid back in the late 60s/early 70s - stays sharp!

the fighter is marked USM3 imperial and the scabberd is a USM8-BM co., the carbine bayonet is marked USM4 imperial and the scabberd is a USM8A1 V.P.co. eastbank.

Thanks.

Imperials are pretty common.
But still desirable.
Especially the M-3.

Sheaths are correct.

Clean them up and put some Camp Dry leather lotion or neutral color paste shoe polish on the handles.

It looks like they are both in pretty good shape.
At least some guy with a bench grinder and a bad idea didn't sharpen them!!

the carbine bayonet does not look like it saw any front line service, the fighting knife has that been there done that look, when i get back to the area i bought it, i,ll stop and see if there is a story with it. you never know. eastbank.

You did great.I have a 1956 Model 12 in 12 guage.I took a variety of small game and waterfowl including turkeys and geese with it from 1964 to about 1990.I never had a problem with it.Since then I have concentrated on rifle hunting deer.

I gotta warn you about going back. I was guilted into selling back an HBar that way. Still not sure what hell that gun saw to be in as bad of shape as it was in when I got it. Pristine when sold back 3 weeks later. That guy fed me the "it was my dads, I shouldn't have sold it" routine then paid through the teeth for the work I did getting it back in order.

they sure make a soup can jump at 25yds with my trap loads, not much of a test as i just wanted to see if they fed, fired and ejected and they passed those tests with flying colors.i may try a round of trap later on. eastbank.
