I don't have a Winchester 1890, so far the ones that come my way are worn out or to much money. John Browning's genius strikes again. Any THR shooters still shooting theirs? How well do they perform?
How do the Rossi copies stack up?
I traded a muzzleloader for this handy 22.
I cleaned the action and ran a brush through it 6 times, but I won't do that anymore after reading about cleaning 22's here on THR. So me and this Rossi model 62 pump carbine and started trying different ammo in it. The rear sight was junk and the front sight is real sturdy making a tapered post front sight. The dove tail grooves are a wierd size, so I found that a Marbles tang sight for a Marlin 1894 fit the Rossi tang & screw, still have to have the forward screw drilled and tapped. Now out to 50 feet and 5 shot groups of 5/8", 22 shorts , Fed Hi Power LR plastic box, CCI Stingers, CCI Target std vel. The WalMart Federal bulk 36gr Hp shoots 10 rounds into 1.25".
I think if I have a better front sight and a target that fits the arpeture I can do better.
