Winchester 94 barrel fit question

Here's a question for those more technically knowledgeable than I:

Will a post-1964 barrel fit a pre-64 Model 94 receiver?

I've gotten conflicting advice on this -- some say no; some say yes. The folks at Brownell's say yes, they'll mate.

Anyone actually know? I'd hate to get everything broken down and then find that they've changed the threads or something.
