I am repairing an old model 12 shotgun and have never had the opertunity to handle one that functioned properly and have some questions.
The problem when i got the 12 was that it would not retain the shells in the magazine. The cartridge ratainer on the bottom of the bolt was badly worn. (cartridge stop appears fine). So I built up the retainer on the bottom of the bolt and now Quite a few are retained in the mag but it seems like every once in a while it doesnt want to grab on of the shells.
My question is with a normal operating model 12 does it lock up good everytime you put a shell in the mag. (problems happened on 1 of 24 shells yesterday)
Also if the was a problem that a model 12 shooter has had and knows i am chasing the wrong path I would appericiate any help.
