Winchester model 61,22LR - like them?

I have my Dad's 62A and I'm fond of it, but really only want to get it out every year or few years for a spin. I was looking at the new Henry's and older Rossi 62A clones of the older 62A model and looks like the Winchester 61, a later slightly modernized pump, seems to sell for a bit less than the 62A Winchesters and probably about what the Rossi clones sell for.

Why is this rifle not more? Kind of looking at a few of them on Gunbroker and the condition seems good, and honestly I'm kind of like why is this Pre 64 Winchester not more expensive?

They’re good rifles. A few years ago any Winchester 22 pump was bigger money. They (along with the 62s) are one of the few firearms I can think of that have actually softened some in real world value. Not as many old timers buying one to reminisce about their youth, I guess. Once in awhile we’ll have a guy bring one in and get upset when we offer him a few hundred bucks for it, and not believe us when we tell him that in his gun’s condition we’ll only get 300-500, and not the 1,000 he read in some American Rifleman article from a decade ago.

Slightly modernized? A completely different design by a different designer, not John Browning.
I don't have The Answer on pricing. Maybe because hammers are Kewl. Maybe because the designers Frank Burton and Harry Crockett are not household names in the Gun Culture.

some of them a kind of pricey, and I think I've figured out why some of them are not as much, and since I would want to use and shoot it a bunch, colleting isn't my goal really ... just want a good .22 so, I don't put too many miles on my Dad's 62a ...

Own a Model 61 Winchester and would recommend one that fits your budget and intended use if you find one that interests you. Very reliable, fun to shoot, and as accurate as any pump 22 you care to name. Action is smooth and fast. Maybe the Browning Trombone is equal.
