Wisconsin Open Carry in Madison

Apparently, the Madison Prosecutor's office will charge people with disorderly conduct if they open carry.

The defendant's attorney should dig up the arguments from State vs. Hamdan from, IIRC, 2002 or so. The assistant attorney general (this was when Doyle was still AG) said that it is the government's position that it is entirely legal to carry a loaded shotgun down the main street in Madison. This statement was in response to a question about the government's position from one of the justices.

As with so many things, it's "legal," but try it and you'll get stomped.
