This is from Suarez Int. I have not attended any of his classes---yet. But I like the way he thinks.

Nationally: 2010 is an election year. We should have ONE GOAL, and one goal only, to expel as many of the leftists out of office as possible. Strategic politics is what we need gents, not some wishful thinking about mythical third parties. Strategic voting that will remove the left's entire power base and lead to Conservatives regaining power in 2012. If we do not do this and bicker about the opposing side not being conservative enough we will be stuck with what we have for another four.

Personally: I challenge each of you to make 2010 the year you either adopt the warrior life style, or strengthen it for yourself if you have already done so. That means discipline in self-indulgence and in physical training. It means developing and maintaining skill-at-arms. It means updating weapon platforms that have been neglected, or learning new ones, and filling the gaps in your overall skillsets.

It also means being a leader and not a follower. It means not compromising on what you believe and know to be true to get along with lesser people. Be a leader at home...lead your family gents...don't let society lead. Be an example at work and not a follower of fools. Let your money go where you want it to go, by design and not by convenience. That means that the liberal-owned store will not get your cash, but the perhaps less convenient store owned by a conservative will get it. Things like that, seemingly small, make a big difference. PC is for cowards, commies, and (another word that begins with "C").

Suarez International: To help with the previous point, we will do everything possible to bring the most refined and efficient fighting skills as close to your doorstep as possible.

I will be adding over a dozen new instructors and new venues. As well, we have added knife training as well as point shooting training. These courses will be offered all over the country as we focus away from overseas work and more right here in the USA where we are sorely needed. My goal is to make SI even bigger and better than it has been in 2009. And to make you as dangerous a person as God will allow.

One Source Tactical: We have several new items and product groups coming that will be exclusive to OST, as well as new weapon concepts that make sense in our modern world. More to follow very soon.

Infidel Media Group: Expect new DVDs in various subjects from an entire AR-15 library to new DVDs for the AK family and the Saiga 12. Want to see a DVD on how to move a team through a house, or to pull off an Australian Peel? We have those planned. Want to know how to stop the bleeding from a stab wound or keep a buddy alive after he's been shot? We have those coming as well.

Finally: I recall a conversation I had with Jeff Cooper about a man named Hans Ulrich Rudel that Cooper came across in the war. Rudel, of course, fought for the wrong side, but if we can get past who he was fighting for he is a man worth studying. Cooper had a book by him, signed. It said, in German, "A man is only defeated, when he admits it to himself".

Far too many of us began to admit defeat to ourselves in 2009....a change of mind is necessary. 2010 must be a year where there is no room for defeatist thinking, nor of doom-gloom mentality. If one is on the attack, there is rarely time for such thoughts.

May God make it so!

How can the first post on basic strategies be "off topic?"

Much of this goes along with a previous thread I started titled "What will it take" for you to get serious? I cited personal examples of checking a new 20 rd mag installed on an SKS, etc.

Most of the responses were defensive, accusing me of not knowing how "serious" they already are, or that they needed to do absolutely nothing else to get "serious," or they cited minimal (at best) skills and thought themselves ready to rock and roll.

I still have much to do in my personal preparations, but I'm off to a pretty good start.

David E, the theory is that folks who come here are already serious or they wouldn't be here. Yeah, it's the Internet, but the unserious generally go away. Talking about a warrior mindset here is about as profound as telling a high school graduating class that the future lies ahead.
