Only "own" one AK, an Arsenal SLR 106FR in 5.56. I only have one AR, also in 5.56, so any box of 5.56 or .223 I buy "feeds" both platforms. I used to own more of both but the econonics of my household dictated different.:(

dr.rob, thanks for info on the mags. ive been eying some sweet bakelite mags on gun broker and unsure if it will work so now theres hope, thanks

I have a SAR3. It needed a new gas piston because it did not come with a pind and shoddly put together. Everything else was first rate. I like them and recommend them ONLY as a second AK. The 5.56 does not have a "standard" to be built by so therefore they lack parts and mag interchangability.

I don't own a AK in 5.56 but I do have a 5.45 and a 7.62 models.IMHO if I was going to get a 5.56 AK I would definitely get a Gaili Clone from a reputatble dealer. such as Ohio Rapid fire not the other two imports in the US. I think it's a great idea and you should run with it.

dukeofdoubt actually that thumbhole is specially made for you, you are suppose to sit on the brake then when you flush you pull the trigger, just kidding

by the way lets keep it on topic

I always thought Galils would be excellent rifles, a hybrid of Nato and Warsaw Pact thinking... well I wasn't too impressed with them when I bought one. Thought my AKM was a better rifle, even more accurate, just goes to show you you can't beat the original design; if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yes, I would and I did. Finished most of the work on my Saiga .223 a couple of weeks ago. Still waiting on the AR-15 mag adapter....then it will be "Got magazines?" :D
