I chose steel but only because aluminum wasn't a choice, which is what the SP-01 is.

It's another steel vs plastic thread! Maybe somebody will manage to work in 9MM vs .45 somewhere.

I see that they are copying S&W on the backstrap idea.

BTW I would go for a metal frame too.

To answer your question, yes I would buy it. 28oz is an excellent weight for the size.

I've never had a CZ, steel or polymer, that gave me the least bit of trouble.

It is not intended to be a debate. only for information as if this could sell in the US.

I said steel, mostly because I find the heft to be an attractive part of the pistol and not because I distrust polymer guns.

I don't CCW, however if I did I would probably chose the RAMI for it's thinness, light weight alloy and safety over decocker.

I don't know that I'd go out of my way to buy it but I'd trust the quality of the gun W/ my life. I've NEVER seen a bad CZ product

No to your question.

Steel frame CZs yes, aluminum CZs yes, polymer no.

If I want a polymer pistol I'll go S&W or Glock. I like CZ precisely because of their classy, more traditional construction (which includes metal frames), while still being tough, practical fighting pistols.

Plainsman I agree 100%

CZs market is the all steel pistol market. They are very old school in that way.

They need to continue to do that well not move into things they are not good at.

Yes, I think it would. I also think the CZ 110 would sell like mad in the U.S. but for some reason they don't import that model in, just the 100. I had a chance to handle a 100 once and it was great, that deal on the top for racking the slide one-handed worked extremely well, I thought it would be a gimmick.

If they had made it with a safety instead of a decocker I would have waited for it. I am picking up my second steel SP01 soon.

Steel. I need the weight for double taps. The SP01 is even better at that due to more steel up front.

I am jealous. That Hobdell SP01 is purrfect.

Ever seen a CZ100 B?
Yes I happen to have one.

Worst pistol I own... and I'm a big CZ fan.

Have a RAMI-P. Nothing wrong at all with a well done poly CZ.

Make one of them thar phantoms thingies in .40 and I'd surely pick one up.

I most certainly would, i prefer steel in guns but given its intended purpose it does seem slightly more practical.

I would buy one one. I've been eyeing the SP-01 for a while.
It does go bang everytime but it is not a good pistol.
rellascout and ClickClickD'oh,
The only negatives I have heard about the CZ-100 is that is has a long trigger pull. What else is wrong with it? I have considered buying one in the past many times (especially when they were selling for $350).

The long trigger pull isn't so much the problem as the weight of the trigger pull increasing as it travels. Stacks like all get out. And it's serrated.. and it has a tendancy to pinch the side of my finger between the trigger and the trigger guard.

It is reliable, and it is accurate... but it's nothing you can't get in a PA63.

I agree what has already been said about the CZ100 B.

It is a very long trigger that gets heavier at the wrong time. Its like the trigger is working against you.

It ergonomics are just off.

Like I said it fires and is accurate but it is certainly not refined. I would take a Steyr, Used XD or a Used Glock in the $350 price range.
