I cleaned my carry gun the other day, and I just sat down at my desk, pulled out my keyboard tray underneath, and what do I see..

my recoil spring

but all is well, its my old spring, I had the new one in my gun

phew!

:D

I've had similar experiences myself. Allow me to assure you that you do NOT want to have several firearms disassembled on the same table at the same time, lest your reassembly develop some interesting quirks not foreseen by the manufacturers.

How do I know this, you ask? Trust me. I know this.

:p

i once carried my glock 27 all day with a full mag and an empty chamber. went to clear it for cleaning at night and to my surprise, no round was ejected. i have since realized that my habit of ensuring a firearm is uloaded every time i pick it up should be extended to ensuring that same is loaded if it is supposed to be. oddly enough, now that i check the condition whether it's supposed to be loaded or not i have never found a gun in a condition other than i wanted it. reinforces my suspicion that inanimate objects have personalities, sometimes evil and mischevious.

Hmmmmm. Preacherman, I suspect you learned that the same way I learned not to wonder what the tab/button way down low in the back of a Rem 1100 receiver does . . .

I found out as the bolt slammed the extractor into my hand. :what: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

Or a certain Mr. Murphey paid you a visit...

I've had exactly that happen on more than one occasion with my old Star PD.
Pull the slide, release, safety on carry all day, go to clear at home, and "surprise!" no round in the chamber. :cuss:

Turned out to be a broken frame. Went thru 10 mags (all the store had) to discover this. :banghead:

I'm told that the PD frame was magnesium. maybe I should use it to start a fire ala MacGiver...

I have yet to find as nice to shoot .45 that I can afford. :(
