XDM 45 accuracy

P.S. Has anyone tried SWC ammo in their XDm?
Either plain lead, plated or jacketed?

I have a boat load of plated and jacketed SWC's on hand.

I shoot SWC in both my XDM's(40 & 45),I have no issuse with them. They feed just as reliable as all my other guns. They both are new pistols (I bought both this spring), the 45 has the hump, but the 40 doesn't. I don't notice a difference in feeding though.

As far as accuracy ,both of mine are the best shooters, real easy to reload for and get outstanding accuracy and the bores are as smooth and crisp rifling as some of my aftermarket barrels , the chambers are on the tight side (the 45 is tighter than the 40). I did put PRP trigger kits in both because I'm one of those shaky hands type people so I needed triggers that are light as possible and crisp.

If you question whether it is the gun or human, try to shoot several guns out of a rest, with several different loads and take the human out of the equasion.

Bottom line is I will always own a XDM or two or three or four or five....

In terms of improving trigger pull, I like to put a sheet of paper on the wall with a small pencil dot on it. (You can also just put the dot on the wall if wifey isn't looking) Put the muzzle up within an inch or 3. Now with the dot centered over the middle of your front sight, try your trigger stroke clear through to follow through. Watch the front sight/dot the whole while. Try to keep the dot on the sight.

Oh, I forgot, use an empty gun!

When you go to the range, use one of those 1" stick-on red dots at, say 5-7 yds and try to make the red dot disappear.

Have fun.

I have both the XD service .45 and the XDm .45. I actually shoot
the XD service better than the XDm. I'm thinking of getting an
aftermarket barrel for the XD and getting rid of the XDm.

I think I said it before, but the inherent accuracy of the xd and xdm is better the virtually everyone. There are videos of a guy shooting a xdm at 230 yards and hitting a 3 foot steel target. The same guy could hit a 80 yard target all day with a xdm compact, glock, pretty much any pistol.

If you can't hit anything with a pistol it is likely a issue with the trigger pull, sight alignment, and or grip. Try putting the pistol in a pistol vise and seeing how accurate it is, you might be surprised.

I was going to say something similar to GregGry. Use a sandbag or other rest and take your own movement out of the shots and then see how accurately your pistol shoots. I have a 9mm XDm, and I'm positive that any issues are just my own muscles having fits. I just don't shoot often enough to really train hard on it. But it may not be your technique, other than that the XDm has a different trigger pull than you're used to.
